Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I think in the forum games section an author of a topic should have some moderation powers in his topic. This would help organizing the forum games that we consider "big". For example he can ban people from posting in the topic, edit/delete other's posts, lock and unlock the topic (like rhazzle does for mafia thread). It can be very abusive, thus the topic author's powers will be quite weaker than forum mod's powers:
Editing other's post will record all changes and put the responsibility for that post onto you. This will prevent author from editing swear words into someone's post to get them banned and also prevent getting players into trouble with stuff like this:
Before:
i would want to play this game
After:
i would want to play this game cus ur all dumb and i hate all of u

The author can lock the topic any time but he can only unlock it if he is the one that locked it. So if a forum mod locks the topic, the author can not unlock it.
Banning people from posting in the topic has no limitations except that you can't ban forum mods and you can't moderate forum mods posts
Abusing moderating powers would lead to revoking of them in all your present and future topics

Also an ability to issue warnings and even permabans to who posted on his topic.
This is a false statement.

Yea sure. The worst that could happen is someone ruins their own topic. Editing posts seems unnecessary, but overall, good idea.
Everybody lend diff your power.

not really possible
edit/delete other's posts
eh, probably not.
lock and unlock the topic (like rhazzle does for mafia thread).
I'd be fine with giving this to OPs of any topic.

As long as the moderators lock is a separate type of lock (which overrides the OP lock)
I have never thought of programming for reputation and honor. What I have in my heart must come out. That is the reason why I code.

pls, by "not really possible" I meant "without a lot of effort and things with a lot of effort tend to not get done in a timely manner for example the new PM system which has been ongoing for a very long time now."

thanksyes, could we have that then, master burritosaur?
also whats the problem with deleting the posts
From what I've seen in the past, I believe it would be widely abused.

well that's just for forum games after all.. if you don't like how the host hosts his game you dont need to come to his topic
maybe if a post was deleted by OP it could leave a small notice? like

Yeah, I was stuck thinking in terms of the whole forum. I guess just in forum games that'd be fine.

I don't know if fluxBB has this feature, but instead of having to delete posts, I think that having a white/black-list set by the OP would help for those games where only some players can chat (mafia comes to mind)
