A thread that contains every (relevant) suggestion for EE.

It'd be good to not have to fetch if something was already suggested.

You have to wait 30 seconds between searches.

It doesn't defeats the purpose at all, it's most a hub to all suggestions instead of just few per page.

But search is annoying to use, sometimes you have no idea how the topic title was written.

A Game Suggestions Masterthread could separate, link and tell a short description about the suggestions.

Just saying, have some patience and use the search function because that's what it's there for.

IDK if this is the prime reason, but everything takes processing stuffs. A worst-case scenario search (say you search for any keywords... with no limit... through thousands of posts) could bog down the system remarkably. If there's no delay at all, you could lock up dat database. (IIRC)... so actually searching could do more damage than posting (to the server itself)

edit: source: I'm trying to make this data-retrieval engine which is just all mucked up because I don't have tags, but data strings... and it's so slooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwww I'm doing something wrong but idk what

Can confirm: searching is limited because of limited resources, not spam. It's a fairly decent load of work, especially if you search for something that has no cached bits and you haven't narrowed it down by forum or author or something, which isn't that hard to do since nobody really searches.

We had a masterthread like this in the past but it didn't get updated often enough because it was RPG2K's post iirc and he left a long time ago. And I imagine if we had one now it would be a pain in the butt to update continuously, unless we had a bot to do it for us or something.

So what we want is something that lists game suggestions for us all on one page? In that case, we already have something that does exactly that built right into the forums.

seriously idek what you guys want. You're not asking for something that would solve your problem. Listing them all on one huge page instead of 103 doesn't make it any easier to see if it's been suggested before.

If it's easy searching you want, use google.
Since different mentioned the forum, you could use some google function that requires the page's title to have "Game Discussion" or whatever the subforum name is. In this way, you're searching all the game suggestions, and your keywords can focus that.

Best of all, it's google. This way, they're even closer to taking over our free will.
