Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

After a long and somewhat-but-not-really heated discussion in both #eeforums and #fail, triggered by a certain mistake of mine that got out of hand, we've come to some conclusions about the moderation of the forum in general. We should be a bit more laid back.
I'm just going to go over what I, personally, think, and other people can add their thoughts in the thread.
1. Remove the "non-topic worthy discussion" threads.
They discourage people from posting new discussions and cause people to be more toxic towards threads that may be considered "not-topic worthy". I say get rid of this stigma regarding more casual-caliber threads and allow less serious topics to exist. I honestly feel like this is killing forum activity and just making the forums feel like less of a welcoming place. Why do we have to take ourselves so seriously regarding what's topic worthy and what's not?
2. Reserve spam warnings for actual spam. (asduioghasdg)
This might be a more controversial decision on my part, but in general I feel like we consider lighthearted posts as spam more often than other forums that take theirselves more seriously than us.
3. Allow more spammy games in Forum Games
This might just be me, but games like "Count to 1,000,000" and "Last poster wins" are generally allowed in most forums and I don't see why not here. Just make forum games not add to post counts.
4. Implement my most recent suggestion regarding warning points in the current proposed level system.
As it stands, you can end up being banned for way too much time for something minor, after doing something minor many times prior. There have been cases of somebody posting a light spam post only to get banned for a month. That's ridiculous and why I'm usually hesitant to give out warnings today, which I admit is bad since that's my job. I just want a warning system that's not so harsh for things that don't really matter.
Right now I feel like myself and the rest of the staff are taking the forums way too seriously. It leads to a bad atmosphere on a forum that should generally be a pretty chill place. I'd like to hear what you guys have to say.
Also just because I've posted this doesn't mean these policy changes are already in place, so keep as you were before until we say, officially, that we're being more lenient on the rules.

1. Some forums have a forum board just for off-topic topics that don't promise too much discussion.
2. Well, I have to agree, it was most a pam (pointless annoying message) than spam (several pointless annoying messages), but please, do some verbal warnings.
3. I am anxious to see lot of forumers' post count decline, they'll probably spam less in forum games and go to other forum sections.
4. Alright, I guess.
This is a false statement.

The difference between this forum and forums like that is there are less people here, so it would never really reach that extent. Besides, that doesn't even seem that bad honestly. Not every topic has to have the potential for 10,000 replies.
but please, do some verbal warnings.
Yes, this is something we should be doing more often.

That might be for the better. I'd be curious to see everybody's new post count if that actually happened though, that would be interesting. I'd probably drop a ton of posts.

I personally hate those non-topic worthy discussion threads.
Being more chill sounds nice.

These forums always were way too strict. I wasn't exactly a model forumer before, but I once received a ban for replying to a mod telling me not to do something with a post that said "fine", because it was a one word post. Rules on spam aren't so black and white, and it all depends on whether you're posting something at least somewhat relevant to the thread.
