Drugs?

Legal or nah?

Might as well legalize Weed, LSD, Shrooms and put them under the same restrictions as Alcohol is.

I don't see they're illegal when a substance as powerful as Alcohol isn't

Everything matters . Mostly your surroundings, I mean, you'll take coco if all your friends does right?

When people use these things in excess they behave in ways that are dangerous for people around them.

I don't see the point of any kind of recreational drug... I mean you're impairing yourself physically and mentally for fun? People say it helps them socialize or deal with life or whatever, but that just means you're using it as a crutch.

Idk. I'll probably never use drugs even if they're all legalized. I don't really care if other people do, as long as you're not making my life miserable because of it.

fairly certain there's some data pointing to the correlation between getting hardcore addicted and screwing up your life. Sure, you could say, in your magical mystical 'oh, everyone's a good person' mentality, that they're still good. BUT, employers won't want ya, you might screw your life up, and that's a "worse for wear" situation.

I feel like drugs are on their way to becoming the legalized thing. A common theme for semi-satirical comics is when the grandparents complain about races in today's society. In the future, it'll be us complaining about robots or something.
Point being, what's considered completely unethical and unacceptable, immoral, changes rapidly. I imagine drugs will become commonplace, the bans considered antiquated.

Further, that's a decision based entirely on countries. I assume we're discussing the U.S., but many countries take widely different stances on these issues. Ain't there something about legal rape in India? Second populous country?

And that's the point at which you should get your rights restricted. Up until then, I should be able to do what I want.

well the main reason is because it makes you feel a certain type of way which when combined with other people feeling the same way allows for a really unique and exhilarating experience

same reason why I smoke weed with ppl sometimes or even consider doing any other drugs

the experience is invaluable

I personally don't like mind affecting drugs because they remind me too much of Bad Times(TM) but as long as they won't seriously hurt you or make you likely to hurt others I don't see why they shouldn't be legal.

I know this is sort of off topic, but let me tell you a story.

I grew up in a very clean home. None of my immediate family smokes/does drugs or drinks alcohol. So I never thought about doing these things before.

A few years ago one of my distant cousins passed away from drug overdose. I didn't know him that well, but it made me anxious about drugs. I decided I would never do recreational drugs.

But last fall I met this guy, we'll call him B. He was friends with my best friend A. He's younger than me but drinks a lot, and occasionally smokes pot (though only on the weekends.) He's actually a really nice guy.

Finally one night he convinced me I should try getting drunk. I had never done it before and was very skeptical. Every college ever tells freshman not to do it. Granted I was a Junior, but I was afraid of that experience. But I trusted him and my best friend so I tried it. It was kind of nice.

Then it started the three of us hanging out and getting drunk almost every weekend. Some times we played games or watch movies. We usually just ended up getting very disgruntled and stupid, but I have a lot of very enjoyable memories. It's hard to convince someone that getting drunk is fun, especially when they haven't done it themselves. It's also noted that usually for it to be enjoyable it's a sociable behavior. IE: It's more fun to do it with friends. And, once you try it once it's easy to get an addiction. When I turned 21 I overdid beer, but now I've learned self control. Most of the horror stories you hear about drugs/alcohol are usually people who have walked into bad situations. You can't always blame the person, because you don't know why they are doing. Peer pressure/depression/addiction. But the use of drugs and alcohol does not always have to be that way.

I do think some drugs should be illegal because they are hazardous not just to the users but others as well (ie: bath salts). But for something like Marijuana there is no reason it should be illegal. I have tried it, only once before, it just makes you kinda tired and hungry. There's no hallucination/blackout/stupid behavior if you're just trying to get a little high. People who are afraid of it just don't understand it.
