Do you mean:
3+sqrt(3) = sqrt(3) * (sqrt(3) + 1)
OR
3 + sqrt(3) = sqrt(3) * (sqrt(3 + 1))?

sqrt(3)= 3^(1/2) so 3^(2/2) aka 3 + 3^(1/2) = 3^(3/2) = 3+sqrt(3)

(3 + sqrt(3)) - (sqrt(3) * (sqrt(3) + 1)) = 0

distributive property

From the expression 3 + root(3)*(1) you can pull out a root(3)

This is the expression in other words:

root(3)*root(3) + root(3)*(1)

which equals

root(3) [root(3) + 1]
