Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

bring back rep

you guys remember rep dont you? that little thing under your avatar where you could either subtract or add it with limits in place. i think it should be brought back because
1. it is fun if people dont take it too seriously
2. can help people not be cringey
3. nostalgic
of course this would mean woots and rep would do like the same thing so maybe you could remove woots

Re: bring back rep

People can and will take it too seriously. Currently, the 'woot' system is far superior, as it doesn't start flame-wars.

Re: bring back rep

honestly i kinda want to be able to give a reason as to why i'm wooting it
because it's more of 'SAVAGE BURN' 'GREAT JOKE' than 'agreeing with post'

Maybe have a short message (character limit) attatched to the bottom of the post - the post author can delete the comments if they want - that'd be neat

Re: bring back rep

Usually the reason for a woot is apparent when looking at context, though. A post wooted a bunch of times for being agreeable is easily distinguishable from a post wooted a bunch of times for being hilarious.

Maybe only 1 vote to the rep per day? Or 3?

Re: bring back rep

If you're so concerned with flame wars just make only positive rep'n' a thing.

I think the forums are much more chill without the rep.

Rep from what I remember showed a number next to your name that showed the sum of all the reps you've gotten. So it could be that without the negative rep.

Re: bring back rep

I really don't see the point of this topic. Ever since the new moderators over EE is attempting to become more and more of a safe space. It's sad, but true. Rep will probably never be re-implemented because most people can't handle it.

No, because it may not necessarily be good or bad to what the comment is; like on stackoverflow.com you can post a comment or a new post.

Friendly reminder that if you want a suggestion added you should woot the first post so it's easy to see your support.

thanks sweetie

<Bimps> Different55: do you support woot being brought back
<Different55> it never left
<Bimps> i mean rep
<Different55> lmaoooo
<Different55> yeah I don't really care but I like rep more than woots

you heard it here first folks, our lord and saviour supports rep

-

#triplepost

diff towel (bobthan) and i talked in #fail for a bit and we came up with this. both rep AND woots?!?!??! see it works because while woot is like a specific post, rep is about the user in general and show more about them.

Re: bring back rep

most forums use a reputation system

for the reputation system, make it so that the higher rep you are, the more Rep you can neg or give

That makes it so that only reputable users would be able to actually cause any sort of conflict, and if the user was reputable then that's unlikely to happen anyway
