Anyone know The Avalanches?

Since I Left You is pretty damn sweet.

I just finally got into the album not too long ago.
It's not my main preferred genre of music, but I'm currently delving into the other side of the music spectrum I don't normally explore - rap, electronic, and more
It's basically electronic dance music with heavy sampling of all kinds of genres, taking songs and turning them into something completely different. According to the wiki page there's over 3,500 different vinyl samples in the entire album, holy crap.
And I love how the entire album flows.. every song segues into the next so perfectly

I've known Frontier Psychiatrist for quite a while, but I've come back to it, forgot how hilarious it is with all the vocal sampling. + nice video too
The title track also has a great video, with a dancing miner apparently symbolizing his acceptance of his death and into heaven while his friend survives. That or something about accepting the possibilities of your life.

Or tell me what else I should check out

My old Indonesian teacher was the drummer in the band for about a year. Apparently, when they were at some award ceremony (Emmy? Is that for music? It might have been an Australian equivalent) he wore a proper suit, and all of the other band members were wearing tshirts and just casual. They ended up winning an award, and they sent him up to accept it because he wasn't dressed like crap.

Ha, that's pretty hilarious. Nice to see you got a little brush with.. Sort of fame there.

Did they actually perform songs from the album? I can't seem to find anything on YouTube of it, except from their old EP. (I actually love that video of Run DNA / Rock City, they're so goofy)
