Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Intro
If you think about it, music notes are kinda useless. It's difficult to incorporate them into gameplay and most people don't find enjoyment in listening to EE songs.
I, however, think I may have found a way to incorporate music into EE without messing up gameplay.
Music blocks!
What are Music blocks?
That is a music block.
What do they do?
The owner can place these blocks, and when a player touches one, it plays the song that the owner preselected.
How do they work?
I'll get to the red music block later.
When the owner selects the block, similar to a world portal, they can choose the song they want. Unlike previous suggestions where the song can be anything, these songs have to be made in EE.
But Kirby how does the system know the song?
Here was the solution I thought of: Music worlds.
Basically, music worlds are worlds that can be purchased in the shop. They are prebuilt as shown above, with all the portals and blocks placed. The only blocks you are allowed to place are notes, drums, and the reset point which I will talk about later.
Note: You can't place these on blocks, on portals, or behind portals.
When you save the world, the system will record the song as if they were starting from the top left and holding right. Note: the system starts at full speed.
Reset Points
You can place 1 reset point in your music level, and what it does is tells the system "Hey, when you reach this point have the song reset please"
Red Music Blocks
The red music blocks cancel whatever song you have playing. Maybe there can be an option to either cancel the song immediately or fade out?
If you liked this suggestion pls woot these graphics took longer than you may think.
Thanks ninja for making the reset point graphic and filling the music world

easily spammable though
someone can just place tons of those things and when someone touches them it will destroy their ears

You can do that with normal notes too plus there's a mute button

You should also be able to play the song as if the speed effect were active.

This is a perfect suggestion. It can give levels atmosphere... Mood... Setting... Yes

That can be abused a ton though, and EE made songs would be amazing for this (no words, so not abused, and player made things in the level), plus it would actually give a reason to not mute the game in non-music levels right away.

since the option menu will be ingame too after the next update, there is no problem with troll music, whe you can toggle it in the options.

For EE: EE Music > Youtube
Thank you eleizibeth ^

Honestly, I was never a fan of EE music so I don't really care much, but I guess it's a nice idea

Players can just mute the game so they don't hear any music... Besides, why would anybody even spam/troll with this? I mean noone is gonna play trolled worlds, so owners won't abuse this music block since they don't want players to leave but want them to stay, so owners will try to do their best to keep worlds good quality, because no world owner wants to have a bad reputation.

If people are super cautious they could have a 5 seconds auto mute when joining worlds and they can then judge if there are music blocks everywhere or if it's a world that may have note blocks everywhere later on
Thank you eleizibeth ^

Was there a problem with just using midi files? Those don't contain any singing

No, but part of the reason I made this suggestion was to give regular music notes a purpose, as they are really hard to incorporate.
It's also fun to make music in ee, so these blocks could let the musicians of ee shine

I see I see
Personally I think making music on EE is a pain compared to making midi files tho
I hope a way to add background music to worlds gets added, may it be something like this, midi files, or some kind of preset songs. Anything is fine by me as long as it does the job!

But what if a song needs a lot more space than that, like the big world with 8 different artists. Some of those songs need a bigger room to build.

Eh, if I did the math correctly the max song length is 4 minutes. Thats plenty.
What about using newground ids like geometry dash?
there wont be innapropriate things
:/ some musics may contain swears
If the music is made in EE it can't contain swears

I hate it when people say it can be abused because it's the owner's fault. If a person wants to destroy everyone's ears, let them do it - it will most likely be a terrible world and everyone will leave.

While I like how detailed this suggestion is, and agree it could work, and am sometimes impressed by what people can do with those basic EE music blocks, I still think all songs ever created with EE tools suck. If it's either this or some kind of MP3/YouTube solution, then my preferred choice is the latter. Might cause copyright problems though, dunno.
I have permanently left the game and forum.
EE is an entertaining game and I enjoyed playing it...
...but it's time for me to move on.
