Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

How does an avatar affect an user post?

In my opinion it does.
When somebody changes her / his avatar don't you interpret her / his post different? You don't even recognise the person if you don't look at username or signature.
I toke a very cartoon-cute avatar... Doesn't my posts seems less serious now, or meow cute? //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile

P.S When you read this, I may replaced the Pokemon avatar with something else.

Avatars don't mean anything to me.
That's why I can go from a capital B to a lady dressed like a bee to a random block

Re: How does an avatar affect an user post?

I can barely read my posts thanks to my avatar.

Well, avatar = interpretation. If you take Different55 and have him use a cartoon network avatar, you probably won't take him so seriously.

Re: How does an avatar affect an user post?

Does my current avatar lend itself to being taken seriously? I didn't think so but idk maybe dinosaurs with the bodies of burritos are a more serious matter than I thought.

I always recognize people from their avatar. When they change, it takes me a few days to get used to it lol.

I feel like my avatar is a good reflection of who I am as a person.

Re: How does an avatar affect an user post?

Like D55, I use the avatars to see who made the post.  It's easier to see without actually looking at who posted it (one of them peripheral things).

When everyone started using GKA's avatar I was thrown off so bad.

All hail Burritosaur!

If a post contains bad grammar, I usually don't take them seriously. *Unless they are from a non English-speaking place.

I wonder how everyone would react if we started using Barbie Girl as avatar.

If you hadn't made this topic, I would probably think "Oh no, another one of Creature's attempts at 'humour'.".

You weren't. But if you hadn't made the topic, I wouldn't know, so that's what I would think.

Re: How does an avatar affect an user post?

you dont judge them by who they are or what avatar or name they use thats whats wrong with society they just judge them by how they look we have to make a stand i mean i get it if you dont like them if how they act but just  judging them how they look racist its kinda like normal vs beta beta bearly likes normal people makes worlds called beta only if you have beta get edit why cant someone make a world called normal get edit Thats why we have to stand up whos with me.

Oftentimes if someone changes their avatar I won't really read them differently because I'll know who's posting most of the time (I rarely see new people posting here, or at least on the threads that I go on)
Pingohits's old man evolution changed me tho

I think I kinda agree with this. This is one of the main reasons I stopped changing my avatar every few days //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/tongue

Re: How does an avatar affect an user post?

I don't know why I didn't thought on that before.
How it will be if there are no images at all?

Go to http://forums.everybodyedits.com/viewtopic.php?id=31829. Try read.
Then go to http://forums.everybodyedits.com/viewto … =31829&p=2 and paste this code into the console.

$("img").remove();

What difference you feel between them?
