You mean a polling system?
You can add those on like IP.Board and other forums so I'm assuming it can be done here.

Speaking from a programming standpoint, how do we isolate polls if you make it BBCode? You'd have to give them custom ID's.
Personally, I'd keep them limited to topic creation. that, or [poll]POLL_ID[/poll] and just have a separate poll creation widget. But this idea does hamper some of your creativity. sad.

Polls are possible, but not as this BBCode thing you envision here. It'll probably be limited to topic creation, possibly with a little BBCode bit you could stuff somewhere in the post so you could place the poll even though you can't control every aspect of it's appearance and everything.

Polls themselves are easy enough to add, just not dynamically bbcode-generated ones

Polls themselves are easy enough to add, just not dynamically bbcode-generated ones

In that case, maybe allow for integrating strawpolls?
It seems quite easy, all I think you need to do is put an iframe somewhere, then strawpoll does the rest (source)
Maybe then you could have the bbcode something like this:

[poll]strawpoll link which I think the id could be parsed from (to get the embedded html)[/poll]

Edit: Just tried it and any strawpoll can be embeded if you use the id in the url, it is quite big though but is still readable if you scale it down to 50%
