Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Fix or Remove Most Gem Prices

Example 1:
- - - - -
How many players would buy gems and then spend 13 gems to get 10 coin doors?

Before reading the rest of my post, read this post.

I was talking about my Coin Door Mini II level, which is a Medium World (50x50).
That level's forum thread has a minimap.
Even without playing the level and just by looking at its minimap, you can tell that only about 35-50% of the square with coin doors is filled.
I'm still busy using energy to get more coin doors, and I'm currently at 1030 coins doors.
This means I still need 734 more to really finish building the level that I have in mind.
My plan is to move six gold coins to the row above the coin doors to make the level longer.

Now, let's say I would pay $5 for 50 gems.
This would allow me to get roughly 40 coin doors (10 coin doors = 13 gems; 4x13=52 gems).
In other words: I have 1030, need 734 more, and could get 40 more for $5.
That is $5 for about 5.5% of what I still need, that is $5 for about 2.3% of what I'll use in total.

The numbers of players who have spent 13 gems to get 10 coin doors must be negligible.
Does this mean the staff's income from artificially limiting coin doors is negligible?
No, there's Builders Club.
This still means, however, that the "13 gems" button (for 10 coin doors) is more or less pointless.

Example 2:
- - - - -
How many players would buy gems and then spend 5 gems to get 1 sign?

What if, for example, the player wants to tell an RPG-ish story using 10 signs.
That's not a very long story and that would be $5 (1 sign = 5 gems; 10x5=50 gems).

The numbers of players who have spent 5 gems to get 1 sign must be negligible.
Does this mean the staff's income from artificially limiting signs is negligible?
No, there's Builders Club.
This still means, however, that the "5 gems" button (for 1 sign) is more or less pointless.

These are just two examples, but the same goes for almost every gem price in the game.
A Tall World is another example: 80 gems; as if anyone would pay $5+ just to get a single world.
In my opinion all those gem prices should either be removed entirely or should be lowered.

If the staff prefers not to lower the gem prices, as Builders Club provides most of this game's revenue, simply remove those gem prices.
Replace it with a "Unlimited? Get Builders Club." link or something similar.

Even just 2 gems for a spawn point or checkpoint is something virtually nobody will pay.
Players will just wait 6.25 hours.
Waiting and waiting - and more waiting, until you can finally build a tiny level with more than basic arrows.
Paying for everything is simply impossible; Builders Club not an option if you don't want recurring, periodical payments.
The good levels for campaigns will arrive five years from now. If players don't leave.
I dunno. There may be a problem here. Almost none of the gem prices make sense.

Maybe a yearly fundraiser instead, and if we make enough money then everyone gets unlimited blocks.

If I pay $5, I should get unlimited coin doors forever, not just 40 coin doors.
What a joke, really, when you think about it. Don't you think $5 is enough to get at least 1 block unlimited.
Nice when you have a Huge World of 90.000 blocks total, that 40 of those blocks can be coin doors. Totally worth $5.
Anyway, trying not to be sarcastic; kinda failed. Sorry.

[Edit: Changed "prizes" to "prices". Oops.]

Re: Fix or Remove Most Gem Prices

I agree, limited blocks are one of the most annoying, and potentially alienating, things about EE currently.

Side note: in your post did you mean prices? "Prizes" refers to a reward, "prices" refers to a cost.

Oops, fixed.
Thanks.
