Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Maybe remove all links to eeforumify.com from this forum.
For example, when it has
- - - - - - - - - -
http://eeforumify.com/viewtopic.php?id=46
or
text
- - - - - - - - - -
then just change it to
- - - - - - - - - -
http://forums.everybodyedits.com/
or
text
- - - - - - - - - -
or, even better, to
- - - - - - - - - -
(broken link removed)
or
text
- - - - - - - - - -
I have permanently left the game and forum.
EE is an entertaining game and I enjoyed playing it...
...but it's time for me to move on.

such is the nature of the suggestion, onjit
If different wanted to get REALLY crazy, he could match the post content with all other posts...
Wouldn't that be complexity O(n^2)? Didn't look it up or nothin' so no attacks pl0x
looping the entire posts to look for bugged links
and then looping the entire posts to match said links
but it'd be worth it?

I must be missing something. How would I be able to match a link with no identifying features other than a broken topic (and sometimes post) if up with the topic post it originally linked to?

Isn't there a possibility that some eeforumify.com links actually link to the proper posts?
Probably should make a note of that in the plan (if it is to be carried out, of course)
You could use the wayback machine on the posts that don't make sense... to see if there is a chance of it being ee.forumify. Fairly certain eeforumify verification won't work because "of the site's robots.txt"

I wish those ee.forumify links would direct to the topic on this website. I found some usefull topics but they have old links that I need to see. ;-;

A 1 in ~400,000 chance for post links, of which there are less. So probably nothing there. A 1 in ~19,000 chance for topic links, of which there are more of. But those would all need to be checked manually since collision checking doesn't sound like something a program could do easily.

Not a bad lead. It would limit us to really old topics but it's better than nothing. All archived forum pages can be found here. It's possible we could match all those up and more or less do a massive search and replace on every single post.
Like this one:
http://ee.forumify.com/viewtopic.php?pid=208382 -> http://forums.everybodyedits.com/viewtopic.php?id=10147
There are 3 posts that contain a link to the old URL:
http://forums.everybodyedits.com/viewto … 55#p186055
http://forums.everybodyedits.com/viewto … 02#p187802
http://forums.everybodyedits.com/viewto … 35#p191135
I've gone ahead and manually updated the links in these posts, but the actual replacing part should be able to be automated.

Can't get those hopes any higher.
I suppose we could make a call to every old topic... are you matching username and post content? Or is there a better way?
was the eeforumify always robots disallowed? cuz otherwise there's a treasure trove. I don't think there's a whole lot to gain from ...
Oh I remember what I'm talking about. I meant forums.everybodyedits.com, because of the domain change and all that. (.cf -> forums.*.com) Are those up to snuff?
seems I forgot about our middle domain.. Which also explains the problem with eeforumify which was confusing me.

I looked up an archived topic, copied down its link ID, searched the forums for the topic title, copied the new link, searched for posts containing the old link, and replaced them with the new link.

No, that was recent. Right before it went completely down. They didn't want us using google cache or archive.org so they put up a robots.txt to disallow everything.

Yep, all that changed there was the domain so no IDs changed between forums.everybodyedits.com and forums.YouKnowWhatIMeanI'mNotGoingToTypeTheWholeThingOut.com. On top of that, all forums.everybodyedits.com links redirect to their forums.ee equivalent.
