Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

You need to upload it somewhere else like mega or Google drive or Dropbox and then post a link to it like you would any other.

Every time I show someone my browsers they always say that - I have multiple windows too with as many or more tabs (sometimes have so many my 1920px wide screens cannot show any of the favicons but I'm fine) - I almost always open links with middle click.

bbcode is like forum code
they are those tags like [ pre ] or something like that and almost every forum has them.
the most popular onces are b, i, u ,s, url, img, code, color, quote, spoiler and maybe center

BBCode isn't "code". At least, it's probably not what you're thinking of when you think of code. You can't write bots or programs in BBCode. BBCode is a markup language used to tell the forums how you want your post to look. Like making words bold or adding YouTube videos to posts. Just highlight the text you want to make bold in the text box and click the B button. Or the I button if you want italic text. Hold your mouse cursor over the other buttons and it'll pop up a description of what they do and an example or two of how they're used.
If you need a better explanation, and if you still have it, check the welcome PM I sent you. There's a link to a guide on how to write BBCode by Zoey in there. It'll tell you all you need to know. If you have trouble with anything you can make a topic asking for help like AYB did here.

^ they didn't say this, BBCode is a mark-up formatting language - all you can do is have tags that change how text looks: [color=white]text[/color] or if an image should be displayed: [img]http://image-source.hld/imagename.fileending[/img] or some other multi-media supported by the forum.
You can mix these together, so you can have an image as a link - done by putting image tags inside a link [url=http://burritosaur.com][img]http://forums.everybodyedits.com/img/av … 1433902268[/img][/url]
Also:
@Different
Change
.pun .postmsg .postimg img {
margin: 7px 0.5em 7px 0;
}
To
.pun .postmsg .postimg img {
margin: 7px 0;
}
To remove the line after the image
