New Friend - Last Seen "Over one year ago"
He added me, I accepted. He was on just a few hours ago. When I refreshed the friend tab, it said 8 hours ago.

The maximum difference between timezones is ~24 hours, and that's for places crossing the International Date Line. You'd be in Mars or something if there was a whole year of difference.
Anyway this seems to be just a bug with the "last seen" system, which is a bit weird. Does it register you as "seen" when you just open the lobby for a few seconds and quit or do you have to actually enter a level?

When adding friends they appear as ofline first, correct?
well the server just never sends the friend to you after you clicked acccept (until you reclick friends tab) , so your client makes something up. i gues. could be horribly wrong though

ee has loads of bugs similar like this but in different locations fx. removing someone from a crew and he gets erased from it when you refresh the crew tab

It doesn't immediately grab the data when a friend is added. You only see it once ever.
