Why not get rid of the log in smileys entirely? It has nothing to do with logging in. It's like putting the cowboy smiley on every kick message, and the wizard on messages that say "you don't have command access."

Well it's just meant to represent EE in general. What kind of pic do you suggest that would have something to do with logging in? There isn't really much, so it makes sense to just put something to represent the game you are logging into.
