Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Hello, I've seen many people being insulted by others because they didn't know perfect English. People say often: 'I'm not going to take you seriously because of your grammar.' Why is that? Being bad at English doesn't mean you're stupid. I had a hard time learning English, and my grammar is still pretty bad. But I wasn't stupid, I'm just bad at learning languages. People shouldn't be judged by being bad at writing in English.
Please, call me Thomas.

Often on here people are just joking (I think anyways)
For some reason in real life though, people just don't realise how much of an effort everyone else has to make to learn English. English is an awfully hard language, and those who's its native to have a hard time as well. In America (and here mind you) it's argued by a lot of people that, "Oh, this is America, you speak English here." Plus, a lot of English native people (or that I've seen) don't actually know much outside of English.
Well isn't verbal English more flexible and slangy?
I've heard about foreign people who study perfect English for years, and when they move to somewhere like the US or UK they get confused by everyone using slangs and dropping a verb or two naturally.

Honestly, I don't think it's terribly important. A few dropped verbs, sure. In my travels, I've found that indecipherable language distracts from the message. Further, it seems that the user who doesn't capitalize letters or use punctuation often doesn't have a very interesting message to convey. That doesn't mean I won't listen; rather, it means I won't feel moved to respond.
You can call it judging. But, if I cannot understand you, I'll just keep moving.

In real life, I believe the second attribute people look for in a person is how good their grammar is. It's an innately important trait for someone to have, and it's inherent for people to judge you on your grammar. However, judging and being rude is not the same thing. You can make your judgments, but that should not affect how you see the person as a whole.
I don't know where I was going with this, but yeah be nice to people even though your brain wants you to judge them. Being completely nonjudgmental is a habit you have to pick up.

I try to avoid making mistakes, because I want to be taken seriously. I can't write hard sentences, so I keep it simple.
