Suggestion of Banlist bot

Hi all !
I didn't read every topic and didn't really search if this question was asked.

Do you have a "Banlist bot" (exept ninjabot) to suggest me ? It have to work like "Krock Bot" if old people remember :
- we can ban offline players simply when you write his name on a list

I just need this bot to ban, and unban, that's all.

isn't it just like saying a bot name?
it's more like "promoting" a bot rather then putting it down.

The moment they're putting it on the forums, it's being promoted.
A search engine like google has the bot, bing has the bot, yahoo has the bot, tons of spider tools have the bot, etc. etc.

It would be rather hypocritical that you would say "no-no" to being put on a site that is administrated by a human instead of bots.

Aside from that, the website clearly states who made what bot etc. etc.

So as long as the bot is posted somewhere on the forums, or another website with decent SEO, it's just unfair and illogical to say no.

P.S. Pretty nice, how well you keep up-to date. Obviously there are some forms of criticism to be made but... It's nice and decently complete.

You're bringing up multiple examples of the web-crawling "bots". Again, you're assuming that a web-crawler is in the same class, and therefore should be treated the same, as an EE bot. Hypocritical? not so much. If you want to blur definitions, consider how Google is required by the European Gov't to provide a way for people to remove search engine results for their own personal benefit.

I'm not sure how privatizing a person's intellectual property is unfair. (you pirate!) To declare this illogical is (again) to assume that the bot creators actually want publicity.

I'm not saying that web-crawlers are the same as EE-bots at all. I'm saying that many of them would have some page containing the bot (which would be uploaded by the owner on forums or other websites with decent SEO). Therefore unwanted publicity will always be present by simply googling (or using another search engine that happens to spider the forum) bots and ee and then just searching a bit.

Therefore there would be no difference between putting the bots in a list (when the bot would be posted on a forum like this) on another website.

The major search engine crawlers follow the robots.txt file, which allows you to block indexing. Crazy, huh? If I wanted to make my bots go dark, I'd just drop them off Mediafire and set my ROBOTS.txt. Suddenly "always present by googling" is entirely false... all with a few minutes of clicking.

The difference here is that your links would require me to move files to a new location. That'd be annoying, especially when your "SEO" feels compelled to push buttons. However, we're going back to that "intellectual property" thing. Provided we can class programs with music, writing, etc. you're looking at some sizable copyright industries. For some reason, they think stealing is bad.

I realize the concept of "stealing" is hard to understand if there is no price...

Bottom line: The only places bots are really listed are: wiki, users own site, and this questionable site. The wiki can be edited out and monitored. People could try being reasonable there. If the user is the admin of his own website, he has the power to select who can use it. This third site, however, is not "one of many ways to find the bot" -- at this point, it's the only way.

We shouldn't have to force you to admit it's the only one left. This "SEO" you mention should be reasonable enough to admit removal requests.

Because the viewpoint I suggest actually requires cooperation on your viewpoint's behalf (SEO), simply agreeing to disagree gets us nowhere. If I actually shared this view, I'd be enraged that you'd suggest such a move: you're basically ignoring the problem.
