Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

woot philosophy

Guy1 likes to make people laugh. It makes him feel good. So he tries to make as many funny posts as possible because he believes people will laugh at them.

Guy2 likes it when people woot his posts. It makes him feel good. So he tries to make as many funny posts as possible because he believes people will woot them.

If you woot every post that makes you laugh, does this mean that there is no way from telling apart a guy1 from a guy2? Is guy2 selfish because he only does it for the woots? Or are they both just as selfish as each other because they are both doing it to make themself feel good?

idk just a random thought

Re: woot philosophy

Since a woot represents an abstract value, we can never really know for sure who is making the selfish posts and who is not. But as long as the posts are on topic, I don't see why it matters whether it's for woots or not anyway.

P.S. I am the queen of woot farms.

Re: woot philosophy

To tell them apart, you could actually get to know them.
Since (as was mentioned) woots are abstract (and limited only by time), I don't see how terribly selfish it would be. Sure, to a minimal extent, he's going for some form of glory in the way of woots. But there's no throne, no giant list (though I want one) of wooted posts/users etc. So I'd say yes, he's being selfish, but they have no effect so his drive to get woots is rather odd.

I feel guy1 has more "philosophical" or moreover "psychological" notice. (I think people discuss PERSONS shaping output to make people laugh more than they discuss PERSONS shaping output to earn "status" in the form of silent agreement. (CAPITALS for parallelism emphasis))

Re: woot philosophy

If you want woots, post a thread about Bruce.

This is a false statement.
