"Black screen of death"

Um, hi!

I'm a long-time player of EE - I don't exactly remember how long ago I started playing. My playing has been interrupted several times over the years because of the so-called "black screen of death" bug. Basically, the coloured title "Everybody Edits" briefly flashes on the screen before the game simply turns into a black screen. Thus, I am unable to play the game. I was able to play back in the spring, but at some point the game just randomly started doing this every time I try to play. I've tried using both Firefox and Chrome, and both browsers as well as my Flash Player are in the newest versions. I disabled AdBlock on Firefox to see if that would have helped, but nope. I'm pretty certain that it's not caused by a browser addon, because nothing really changed around the time the game most recently started doing this to me.

I would highly appreciate if someone would be able to give advice on how to get the game to work. 2.0 seems like a cool thing, but not being able to try it out is a major disappointment.

Well, it's not on EE's end, so it could be anything.

Have you tried something as simple as clearing your cache? (ctrl+shift+delete, clear cache)

How absolutely silly of me - I actually hadn't thought of that. I removed all of my EE-related cookies and the game works now again. If the problem ever comes up again, now I know how to fix it
