Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Hi guys,
As I'm sure some of you noticed during the campaign preview video, the top right corner didn't display woots and there was a "Favorite this world!" button when beating the campaign level.
This is because woots will be replaced by "Favorites" and "Likes".
Why?
Currently, woots are completely meaningless. Anyone can theoretically spend an infinite amount of woots on a level, either by coming back each day, rejoining or even using extra accounts. People woot to get edit rights, woot to get "gold" in a bot level, woot to announce them leaving the level, or simply woot because they have 10 of them and they don't know what to do with them.
Because of this, woots aren't rare in any way and therefore this "currency" is meaningless. Woots were meant to be a display of quality, to praise a world, but when it was first implemented it missed the mark due to its design. Therefore, woots are being replaced with "Likes" and "Favorites"
How do "Likes" and "Favorites" work?
The system will work similar to YouTube. On the top right in a level (not yet visible in the screenshot) and in the lobby you will see the amount of Likes/Favorites a world has. You can "Like" a world, and you can "Unlike" it. You only get to spend 1 Like per level, ever, making it much more meaningful than woots.
Similarly, you can "Favorite" a world, which means you will also be able to keep track of all your favorite worlds and easily find them again.
When Liking/Favoriting a world, no notification will be displayed in chat. We want it to be meaningful, and liking (and then sneakily unliking!) a world to get edit rights is not a display of quality, which is what this system is for.
What does this mean for my worlds?
Woots will go and Likes and Favorites will take its place. This means your woots are no longer displayed and everyone has a fresh start.

So, back to the era of guestbombing?
Guestbombing is too old school, everyone account bombs now

There will be counters for likes and favorites visible for each world in sidebar and lobby similar to how woots were displayed. Plus there will be sort options for that in lobby too.
The difference is that likes/favorites have meaning and aren't publicly visible.
This means that when you favorite or like a world it won't display a message in chat for other players but only a nice animation and sound for yourself. (possibly for unliking/unfavoriting too!)
I'm excited to hear what sounds toop makes

Why you can just do woots likes and don't want to lose all woots in my levels

This is great!
What about "forum woots", they are gonna stay right?

I am happy and sad. They are mostly used for Bombot to get coins.

Please don't add dislike option, they are easily abusive with botted multiple account and can leave a permanent dent to your level. Unlike option to retract your like is enough.

Sounds good.

It's about time. I was against the woot system from the start (as I woot the OP). Nevertheless, I don't think we need a 'dislike' button. I hate this sometimes emphasis on 'dislike' or 'downwoot'. It's like, if you don't like something then don't play it. If you don't like a world ignore it or if it's offensive report it.
I for one am looking forward to the replacement of woots.

I hope you don't get the idea of "Dislike".
This is a false statement.

If diff removes woots from the forums there will be riots
He will replace it with likes and favorites, you can now favorite your favorite post.
This is a false statement.

Noooooooo! This was the only reason I played Nousic!!!111!
I'm sure I can cover some other sounds
Add a "dislike" option as well. Gunna be useful.
Also, don't let bots know when you do something related to liking/favouriting.
Not going to add a dislike button.
So, back to the era of guestbombing?
Why? You can sort by likes/favs. And we'll have something else for this.
Why you can just do woots likes and don't want to lose all woots in my levels
I think my reasoning for woots going was fairly clear.
This is great!

That's up to D55. I vote yes!
This is cool. But I'm confused, are you adding a "dislike" button too? Oh and you should be able to flag worlds to mods if they are inappropriate etc.
You can always /report in a level.

There's a slight difference between 'unlike' and 'dislike' it; one is to remove a like, one is the opposite of liking. it's not the same thing. dislikes would be bad. unlikes would be removing a placed like.
Anyway, I like this idea, although idk... the word 'like' is a little too bit like facebook. Maybe just keep the word as woot and tell people you can only woot a level once per account?

Yes that's what I meant.
The reason for switching terminology is that most people (grrr ) don't read the blog and forums so they won't know what happened; they'll think they just lots a ton of woots for no reason.

Solution: Choose a new term for "liking" a world that isn't a "like" or a "woot"... maybe kudos or something?

Another word could be "upvote", but let's stick with "like".

If I understand it correctly, this can be the same when people create extra accounts to give Likes and Favorite the world to get the most ''place''. Maybe you can use IP to check when this is occurring
