Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

In all of the time that the friend system has been in place, it has been a very interesting and convenient feature to work with.
However, an inconvenience that always bugged and confused me was the inability to directly friend a user. As of current, the only way to friend another user is to go through the process of sending them an email or vice-versa, which can come across as a bit of a hassle for some.
Because of such, I suggest the addition towards the friend feature that allows you to send a request in-game, (similar to Facebook or something similar), just by clicking a button on their profile, which they can then confirm or deny. It's a very simple concept, but at the same time also important.
I personally do not see any flaws with this idea, and think it is necessary. If anything, it could contribute to the userbase by allowing a better communication for all users which can persuade those to play more often knowing they'll have a better chance of playing with who they want. Along with that, I doubt the feature would require much effort to add, given its' simplicity.
The friends system is good as it is right now, but I feel like this addition could be a major step in improvement.

I don't have the source on-hand but the direct friend idea has been tossed around on the forum. It's a good idea though.
