Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

For example,
I'm not too tempted to manually type every single letter of that URL into my URL bar, including switching tabs for every few letters (I have a bad memory.) The instructions won't fit in the signs, and they probably won't be read because I don't have the time to type everything.

I like the idea, until then you can always shorten the links to make it a bit easier for users.

That could go very, very wrong*, so how about some stipulations:
- whitelisted urls (the forums, blog, twitter, pastebin... stuff like that)
- no link shorteners
- open in new window/have a thing pop-up that's like 'would you like to click this link/it goes off this site/don't give out your pass'
*think viruses or like... weird subreddits.

I fully agree Zoey, as this can easily turn into something very spammy if we're not careful. Perhaps we can go down the route of just having the whitelisted url's as the only ones that can be clickable, and use referrer masking to protect the user's privacy even further (i.e http://everybodyedits.com/link.php?url=[...]). Since link shorteners change the domain name, they would not be on the whitelist and would be unclickable by default.

Off-Topic: Nice world [it's mine]
On Topic: I agree with Zoey, there should be a confirmation asking if you want to open link in a new tab. No Link shorten could be good and bad. But then again if you have a really long link, it shouldn't be reliable anyways.

If you're accepting "pastebin" into your whitelist, why bother? Any URL can go from there. Not to mention, "no url shorteners" -- pastebin URLs aren't very self-identifying.
Point being, there's no sense in a whitelist if users can supply their own material (eyes Twitter)

Well, whitelisting, but for ee content only and ee websites only (so no pastebin.) When I agreed with Zoey I overlooked the inclusion of "pastebin" into the whitelisted urls. EE content only should be safe.

I wanted it to happen.
