Effects persist even with no icon appears

I experiment something on my world with a bot. (somewhat snake bot the removes the block that has been placed)

Down Boost Block
-empty space
Up Boost Block

Go into that spot and place an effect block such as levitation effect and the bot will remove the effect. After a while, the icon for levitation doesn't appear but I am able to activate levitation effect. This also applies to other blocks too.

I find it odd that the levitation icon would disappear. Unless you touch a block to disable it, it should stay on.

How long does it take until the icon disappears?

At an instant after the effect such as levitation icon has been placed

When i get the effect, the icon appears and after 0.01s (very very short delay) later the icon vanishes
