Are gems worth anything?

Basically what the topic asks.

I've seen a lot of hunts and contests start spawning after the appearance of Buzzerbee's contest, and of course the prizes were gems (what else would they be?). I realize a lot of players have already obtained the majority of items in the shop if not all, so I'm asking those players, do you see any value in getting gems?

What prizes would you prefer to see in future contests besides gems?

I'd use them to buy some classics i missed and or beta , so yes i do have a use for them.

I already got all the classics and I have beta so they're pretty much useless now, unless I want to spend major $$$ on Diamond and Big Spender which are also useless. Patience is a virtue, after all.

There used to be this thingy where you could watch ads to get gems... i got 2 , hope they readd it in some form

I save them for when I need them, if theres something next update that I have to have immediately. If there isn't, I just wait, and eventually I can afford Big Spender and such.

Gems are good for getting classics and beta.

Other prizes for contest could be other games, steam codes etc.

Once you bought everything that needed gems, you can spend your gems in limited items.
