Peoples who claim to be a moderator/guardian

Recentely I've getting PMs in EE from some players saying like that:

"I am a guardian. Please, give your account so we can confirm it's hacked or no."

And

"I'm a moderator of EE. I want to check if you're compromised or hacked, so give your account."

THIS IS A SCAM. I muted about 6 users immendiately after they said to give my account.

I'll repeat this: I checked the rules (Terms of EE) but it doesn't exist a rule saying that I should report users who claim to be a guardian or moderator.

I don't have a proof of this sadly, and I don't remember which they were muted by me.

I'd liked if there were a rule where a user can get an temporary or even a permanent ban if they claim to be a guardian or moderator, depending on violation.
If an user report a user who claim to be a guardian or moderator, the user might be banned, not the user who reported it. And if a user reports that a user who claim to be a mod or guardian have hacked a account, they might get a permanent ban.

This applies to users who claim to be a mod or guardian, unless a user posses the color of name yellow or purple, in which case it's a guardian/moderator.

In the first day of April (2 years ago) I fooled peoples by saying I'm a moderator. I didn't ASK users for account, I just FOOLED peoples. And that was fun.

Helps (ish) to prevent people from getting scammed I guess.
Rules like this and mods will never ask for your password, personal info, etc.

Online games will almost always have phishers with people claiming to be moderators to get your password.

Although it is more likely for the sun to rise in the east than for people to stop doing this, I do agree that it should be a reportable/bannable offense to impersonate a moderator, (if it is not already, of course)

No, I meant a suggest to add a rule to Terms of EE. The rule say:

"Don't claim to be an moderator or guardian. This will result in an temporary ban or permanent ban."

The rules didn't say that the users shouldn't claim to be a mod or guardian. It's just a suggestion for rules, why not ask NVD or someone else to add that rule?

I don't think they must be punished... I mean they didn't asked about a type of acc. (which you believed is an ee acc)
And they didn't mention in which game they are mods / guardians.
And as our current rules of EE you are not allowed to share informations such as email addresses -> acc. etc
So as the rules, mods / admins should ban those who answer!
I thought mods / admins shouldn't jump to conclusions...

I claim to be a secret moderator/guardian just to cause drama. Asking someone to give account info for being a moderator doesn't work anymore.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but what I got from this post, is if someone pms you saying "I'm a secret mod, gimme your acc info", they could mean gimme your account for facebook?

I don't get why people aren't taking this topic more seriously. Impersonating a mod/guardian should be treated as a serious offense. As Zoey2070 has proven, phishing is easy even without the tools of a hacker. It's easy to assume all players understand that a moderator would never ask them for their password, but if we're still calling this a kids game then you can't underestimate the naive or gullible behavior of an unwary child. It would be easy for a moderately intelligent user to scam another user with the promise of gems or beta.

If this isn't an official rule, it certainly should be.

Yes it does. Because so long as it's not an official rule, while the moderators can ban people for impersonating them, the banned user(s) can justifiably complain for a ban which was not subjected under the official rules. It's seems simple, but it's the little loopholes that are the reasons criminals walk free. EE might just be a small online game, but I see no reason the moderation should be taken any less seriously.
