Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Instead, if you click the ad, Different55 might get more money so yes, you are allowed to.

Allowed to but that doesn't mean you should click it just for our sake. In fact, you SHOULD NOT click it purely for our sake. Seriously, can't stress that enough. That's how we get kicked out of AdSense and lose the $67 that the Fail Forum's spent a year building up. I would not be a happy guy if that were to happen. Like I said in another post, we get plenty just from you guys browsing the forums.

Yes but he also said not to click the ad for the sake of getting him money, as that could just get the whole thing shut down.
He also said that, granted you're genuinely interested in what it's saying, that you can go ahead and click. But not to click for the sake of clicking.

It seems he also literally just said that now

Now i suggest to make 2 ads, the actual one and one at the bottom, there you will get more money.

The ads I'm getting are boring. They should be more colorful!

I could ask Google to only serve us image ads.

Eh, not too keen on adding more ads. It'd clutter things up too much, I think. Besides, what we have now is more than enough to cover the costs of running the forums.

Nah, image ads take longer to load. Text ads are fine, I was half joking anyways =P

Re: Ads.

I'm confused.
I'll just continue ignoring the ads.
Anyway, I see a few colored ads.

Just treat the ads as you would on any other website that has ads.

Well, it took a while, but I put a message up in the adbox for users who disable adblock asking them to either add us to their whitelist since our ads are unobtrusive and not malicious, or donate to help support the forums instead of being nubs.

Re: Ads.

Sounds like a personal problem. EDIT: Wait, what is someone on Windows 95 doing on a forum for a flash game?

Also they can donate.

Actually, if you donate to yourself you're loosing money because PayPal takes a certain percentage of the transaction (or your bank; if I'm not mistaken.)

Speaking of donations, how much does it cost in USD to run the servers per day on average?

Re: Ads.

per day? I have no idea. We went for the cheapest VPS we could find which means $7 quarterly, but as I'm sure all of you've seen we've really been getting what we pay for. Server load frequently skyrockets causing the site to go down, although fortunately it only lasts for a few minutes at a time.

Why don't you people just get a paid domain on Hostinger and install the forums easily there!? You can have like more than 5 SQL databases on the paid one. Oh, and also, use the UK server. It's better than the US one. I never figured out how to use the US one for a free domain.

I disabled Adblock Edge. And I still see the annoying message. So please fix it.

Removed the message until I have the time to figure out another way to do things since apparently it takes some of you longer than 4 seconds for your advertisements to load.

I'll have to edit my adblocker to block your new ads then

Re: Ads.

The ads.js idea didn't work, it loaded correctly. Tried a few different names, they all worked fine. AdBlock seems to block all the scripts I tried that detect the height of the ad container, though, but while I was typing this reply I thought of another idea brb.

If you want to, that's your choice, but the forums are run off of the revenue the ads produce for us. That and donations. We'd really appreciate it if you didn't use an adblocker, or if you would disable adblock on forums.everybodyedits.com.

+7 thank

In other news, the forums bills have been paid again. We're good for the next 3 months.
