EE has gone down hill

ee use to be awesome. and it still is. but now its just... i cant put my finger one it. there's just something wrong with ee.
Maybe its the new mods/admin.
Maybe its the changes.
Maybe its the players.
Maybe its me.
Its probably all of that.

If anything has changed it's the community. I mean, it's not to say that lack of moderation for the past few years hasn't contributed, but that shouldn't matter so much because the core gameplay remains the same. EE own it's on isn't inherently fun, you are supposed to make your own fun, and the best way to have fun is by hanging out with friends.

I think the moderation situation has been pretty much fixed for now anyways. We've been getting regular quality updates (not like Mr. Shoes weekly new block packs will fix everything updates.) And supposedly the amount of players has been slowly increasing. I don't think EE will ever really be the same, but I do think to get even close to it we need the revival of crews.

Any game that was on Nonoba lost a huge part of it's community when nonoba died. Not the mods fault, not anybody's fault.

Although, I blame Cyclone for not maintaining the forums after chris left because no forums = half of community leaving.

When the forums were revived by the new mods and admins, most of the community was already gone.

I dunno the game seems to be getting better but people get too clingy with the past. The more the staff changes the game, the angrier (certain) people get. The game was dying and is changing to revive it, because it's course under mrshoe was leading to demise. It only makes sense that people will complain as the new devs try to steer it into a new direction. I'm seeing a severe lack of optimism here, and it doesn't have to be that way. Cheer up, give helpful advice to new players, be friendly: it goes a long way. In doing so you can help the game moreso than you may think.

The game has changed a lot in its lifetime, just like the world we live in. Our feelings about it also change, just like our lives. I started this game curious, yet inexperienced and immature. I very much looked up to and respected those maps that gave me curiosity of just how much great stuff could be created, and inspiration (but too bad for me for not acting on that inspiration that I have a bit less of nowadays) While, sure, I had lots of bad experiences back then, but thinking back, I probably liked it better back then simply because I could be curious about it and imagine the possibilities. Thinking about this game enough, it starts to become creepily similar to real life in some ways.

Surely, the game has gone further downhill than its great times around 2010 and 2011, but does that on its own mean it cannot climb back up the hill? What if you or me ended up being one of those people that new users like I was looked up too and were inspired from? We live in the cycle of inspiration, so I would not give up hope simply because the game went in a different direction. I do agree, that the game feels "different" than it did a while ago, but perhaps we can make it feel "better". If you want it to be awesome, just at least try and see if you can make it that way.

You make it sound like it is a simple browser game, while it is a bit more complicated; a crucial part is the game is the community (like what Calicara said). Because of this, the community (or, at least, the nicer parts of it) try to make the best impact on it. The game has great potential, far beyond what we even have today. I think we should take it a bit more seriously than simply few-minute Flash games (while still having fun with the game, of course).

I do not, however, think that is a very good justification for focusing only on the past (what was), rather than on the present (what is important), and the future (what can be).

I miss the ol' days back in '11 and '12 when Mr. Shoe was around. Alas, I can't say that my opinion will be accurate, as I haven't played the game in a while now, but it will still be a good MMO flash game. Some of my art skills have actually derived from making maps on Everybody Edits.

lol thank God you mentioned that, because on one side of the community, there are optimists who give inspiring posts and worlds which are known for art, and not hard box minis or bosses, and on the other side we have a crazy hacker who gets into the server and steals the info to feed it in a bot and connect it to reveal the code or to troll by hacking into moderator mode and tries to tear this game apart.

This is not a simple community. There are many sides of it. Some people only see one side and judge the community only from that point of view, and this, unless the point of view is a good one, causes the player to leave.

You can't say that this game has gone downhill. You haven't lost much. Also, when MrShoe used to own this game, most of the players online were stationary AFK-bot-newb's. All right, there may be those even now, but the player to stationary account ratio is better. All the rest are mentioned above. I don't want to waste my time and yours.
