Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Re: Favorite Japanese Musics

There's this wonderful ambient album I found one day perusing Bandcamp which is Suisen's Just Below The Surface
I don't really listen to much Japanese based music, but I know that Shigeto is Japanese and he has some wonderful IDM/jazz music out there.

That's rude, if you're serious. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/neutral The creativity in music and tech is the last thing you could insult at this nation.

I think there's about a ninety-ten percent chance you're taking it too seriously.

Re: Favorite Japanese Musics

Here's some of my favourite bands/groups/artists/composers/whatever they are!
ONE OK ROCK, MY FIRST STORY, Perfume, ClariS, Ryo/Supercell/Egoist, wowaka, Daniwellp, Livetune, Doriko, Ray, ZUN, IOSYS, Ryu☆, Toyosaki aki, Jun Ishikawa, Jun Maeda, Joe Hisaishi, Sumio Shiratori, AnNina, fripSide, BUMP OF CHICKEN and of course Goose House!

And some random songs I like a lot!
Jishou Mushoku
キャンディーマキアー ト
Happy Synthesizer
Kimi to Boku ~Session Version

I don't know if you have noticed it, but I have a feeling that in japanese songs they rarely make the lyrics rhyme :o

It's not rude at all, he's stating his opinion. You can't call someone rude for saying rock and roll is crap, or country music is crap. Don't take it personally yo, but I'm not a fan of Japanese music either.

That's not to say however, I haven't heard some cool japanese tunes before, I just don't like the style as a whole.

^This. For example, the song I linked is gamelan music. I like gamelan music. Gamelans are neat.

Oh my bad yo, I don't really know how it is characterized though. At least from what I've heard, there's a certain style, tune, rhythmic pattern, stuff like that you'd normally find in one specific genre of music to be common, in Japanese music.

I guess you could compare it to say, Mexican music. They use certain instruments, rhythms, styles of singing and playing music that you'd recognize as being well, Mexican music. Same goes for any cultural style of musical composition. There's a certain flavor to it.

Re: Favorite Japanese Musics

I don't know about mexico, but if we think japanese music as a style it could as well mean this or this. Maybe other things to other people, but it's kinda hard to know what they mean when they just say "japanese".

You might be thinking of J-Pop? That's a genre, rather than just Japanese music in general.
