Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

The mods are the Alpha testers, right? Well, I thought that the URL for the Alpha website might be http://alpha.everybodyedits.com/. I had thought of this a while ago, but credit to this topic for reminding me about Alpha testing. Anyway, try going to http://alpha.everybodyedits.com/. Is anyone else getting an IP ban message?
EDIT: Typing in https://alpha.everybodyedits.com/ (note https) gives me a weird message about the validity of the website. I'm not sure what this is or if it's safe or not. Also, a window popped up about the site's "certificate". Something about "cogames.net". O Googled "cogames.net" and the first result was Asteroids on Nonoba, Chris's website. Suspicious.

*evil ideas form* *prepares to force his way into that site* MWAHAHAHA! Yes, we should all see that message.

I am not getting a ip ban message, but instead I get "You are not authorized to view this page". So it does seem suspicious...
Note the edit to my original post. Anyone care to try that for me? I have no idea what it is.

Not now, I'm busy tinkering with the site and google and a couple other sites.

That 403 unauthorized means the server has a whitelist for IP's, i.e. only let in these specific IP addresses, all others are considered 'banned'.
Also, the https thing is irrelevant, because that URL was not specifically made to have a security certificate, of course https will be invalid. If I were to type in https://ee.forumify.com, the same thing would happen.
Also, since the server is handing out an HTTP 403.6 for that url, there is definitely something there.
So... what would happen if I stumbled into this site? There's only 999,999,999,999 combinations for IPs, amirite? Shouldn't take too long to get through. There's 8 IPs that can get through so I should only have to go through 1/8th of that, right?

Different, yes. That would be the theoretic possibility. But in reality you could go through 999,999,999,991 of those and not get the right one.
@Rurigok. Now I'm really intrigued. Proof that there is a webpage there. Sorry, I don't know too much about IPs and whatnot.
@Different Is it possible to change one's IP?
Offline
In a sense. With Dynamic IPs (like yours) you can ask DHCP for another one and it will assign you one.

^ Use proxies or get an anti-virus that does acts as a proxy. I was looking at a IRC stat page one time and it said I live in Sweden... That's because I haz mah good ol' friend Norton over there on the quick-launch bar.
edit: Different beat me with a different, possibly also correct answer.

-.- Well, as a mod, can't you see the admins' IPs?
Offline
Yep. I'm pretty sure you can. But you can't pick what you change to. No two computers have the same IP. It's like a street address. No two are exactly the same.

Then how does Different expect to get into Alpha?
Offline
IPs change. I can keep changing mine until the site lets me in because it matches an old IP.

Oh he should be MWAHAHAHA. I have lots I'm not letting on. Probably I'll end up nowhere but if I do I'll be one of the first (if not the first) non-mods to see that page. That'll be the end of it, I get in and there it is, nothing else to do but look at the page, but I'm too curious to let this go.
... and nothing else. There's no point to even doing it. There's no payout except seeing the page. XD I'm completely wasting my time over this.

That seems like an awful lot of hard work for something Rurigok isn't concerned about
Rurigok isn't even an in-game admin... What reason has he to be concerned?
^Exactly. I'm back in the city now and there's nothing better to do than to check out the admin's site.

Kind of funny Chris picked such an obvious URL. He could've done something more, I don't know, secret. I'm surprised no one's tried this before.

Why bother making a secret entrance if you have a guard at the door?

Why bother making a secret entrance when you have 999 billion guards at the door?

*ahem* 999 billion, 999 million, 999 thousand, and 999.
Just one guard. The script. Let's in only those on the VIP list. And when one of those admins turns off his computer I'm gonna be the one to snatch up his IP. And then I'll go from there
