New Forum Generation

What do you think about the new generation of users from EE forums? Basically the users who hasn't joined ee.forumify.com or eeforumify.com, only forums.everybodyedits.com, like drstereos and Daneeko.

For me, all they do is spam forum games and complain at everything.

Inb4 lock for flaming.

I think everyone comes off as an outsider when they first join a new forum. We must give them time to assimilate. And no offense Creature, but you don't make the most meaningful posts yourself. Just give them time. The forums is for everyone.

I joined eeforumify at one point but it seemed dead? I don't know, I don't recall anyone posting that much or anything.
I don't really look at whether a generation is obnoxious, just the individual people really.

Well, I had the same problem too, I was too bad to participate in discussions and mostly did not understand what was happening, and I wanted some attention, so I decided to raise my post count in Forum Games. They are probably doing it to get attention, they want a place in discussions. Yes, my posts are most meaningless, I could be cool and give some meaning, maybe even start reviewing works, but I'm too lazy and want to keep my reputation.

Yes, the first time I joined ee forums, I wanted to read all topics and post something here, even hunt for reputation. Now it feels so empty, I want to make some interesting topics to have something interesting to do here. You probably want to do the same, but you must be a bit too shy for it.

They want attention, having low ammount of post counts just make them get forgotten, specially when they have almost nothing to contribute, they want some attention. I remember I once posted over 300 posts in a single day just to get attention. drstereos surely wants the same as I wanted in the first semester of 2014.

Who cares if they want attention? You're missing the point. Why each person chooses to use the forum is up to them. So what if people care about their post count? That's perfectly fine. So what if people only care about their reputation? That's fine too. Who are we to judge how/why the forums are used? I personally don't give a hoot about forum games, but if others enjoy it good for them. If you don't like certain users post then don't read them, but don't whine either. Everyone has the right to have an opinion, even if you don't always agree. And if a user flames or spams the mods will take care of it.
