Hex Blocks and backgrounds

Ok, I'm not the best at making graphics - luckily the blocks are flat.

I'm thinking of 3 types (or 2 if the border can be a hex colour, doesn't affect the minimap colour), black border, white border and no border.
or if the border was 10% opacity overlayed on the background so it gives an edge to the block but keeps the colour.
Same for backgrounds.

This would mean that perfect art will become a thing

That Normal, Dark and Pastel background will become useless.

No, not at all - it's easier to place those than get the hex colours of them, I will still use them even if hex blocks are added.

Cause there's an white outlined, black outlined, and a regular.

Anyways, I really need something like this and it gets annoying sometimes when I need a background a little brighter than the dark/normal ones, pastel is too bright.

The hex for the border should be the variant with opacity #RRGGBBAA and a thinckness 0 - 8 so there is just 1 hex block which you can edit fully.

I don't think this should be implemented. Part of the appeal of creating art in EE comes from the limited color palette.

I agree with Yes actually. One thing that attracts me to EE art was/is the limited palette. What's the fun in making pixel art when you have access to all of the colors in the world? You might as well draw on MSpaint at that point. It would make ee Art obsolete.

This is a good idea. You could add a color-picker too, so you aren't forced to input a HEX color.

Actually, I like Freckleface's idea more. Before, I might have liked this idea, but I saw BEE talking about disadvantages of having a lot of colours. It just sets the bar too high for art, and it means it takes ages to make art. I don't want to wait ages to see a quality world. Quality worlds are already scarce as it is, we don't need them to become even more rare.

The advantage of Freckleface's idea is that you only get 5 colours. That's helpful, without being too many colours where you need to spend ages making art.

There's two sides to this idea:

- if it is implemented, people who create art will buy less or not buy any more blocks from the store, because they do not need any more colors. They have millions of them! However, more might create art, because it lowers the barrier to entry.
- if it is not implemented, people may not have as many options when creating art (as they have a limited color palette.) However, people will still continue to buy things from the store, and will have an incentive to visit EE.

There needs to be some statistics on who buys blocks from EE and if they use them in the world, how often do they do that, etc.. to avoid loosing players because they don't have a need to come to EE to check for more blocks.
