Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Disable/Enable chat

I find that leaving chat permanently can cause players to be abused through chat. This is an issue because young players do not want to get bombarded by insults from alts.

In addition, world owners often have their worlds trash-talked, and every player that enters the world will read the trash-talk and leave/quit early.

The solution is for the room owner to choose to disable or enable chat for everyone in the room. Only Quickchat can work in disabled worlds.

Other means of chat can be found (Tinychat, EEforums.cf chatpage, etc.)

Before and during 2011, chat never existed.

I thank you for reading.

Re: Disable/Enable chat

How common of a problem is this, exactly? I rarely see that happening.

Anyway, it sounds okay to me as long as it's visible from the lobby so I can know not to waste my time entering your world.

I see that happening everywhere. New players join worlds and try to socialize with others, only to be ignored and unwanted. Non-chat worlds will make all players at least feel equal in terms of social sovereignty.

And yes, it is a good idea to indicate that a world has chat or no chat.

Re: Disable/Enable chat

I don't find it very practical to really remove chat from the whole world, what if someone is secretly trolling (if its a edit world) and the owner doesn't see it before saving?, or someone just wants to help someone on a mini, it's kinda hard if you can't talk to them, same with giving advice in general, I just don't like the idea of an owner dictating whether  or not chatting in the world would help people. Plus, we do have the mute command for those people who just won't stop talking bad(which needs to be more known anyway). However I would like a personal disable/enable chat function kinda like bringing people back the way it was before chat, except you can change the setting, I kinda liked just playing the game, but that doesn't give the world owner the right to say that is how everyone should play.

Re: Disable/Enable chat

If someone is abusing chat, it should be reported through the /reportabuse command, in which chat can be disabled if they are caught violating the rules.

It might be an interesting idea to not allow very very new players (who registered their account 3 days ago) to chat, since someone could keep creating new accounts to harass someone.
