Yeah, from ~9-12 PM EST. The time is going to be a little loose since soon I'm going to be away on a vacation for a week, but I'll still be able to hop on a computer for a few minutes each day to update this game. The show much go on!

For now, you can only heal yourself. Maybe in a second game I'll give more options like that. Trying to keep it as simple as possible for now.

You get a little statistic next to your name saying "x kills". Since it's possible to share in a kill, like if two people attack and kill somebody at once, you would get a fraction of the kill credit.

Poor N1KF. He just wanted to heal up with everybody else. It's sad, really.

It seems like the defensive game has struck an appeal. I don't want to jump to conclusions so quickly though so I'll let things play out. If a few days go by with a stagnating game I'll try my best to nerf the defensive and buff the offensive.

Trying to keep it simple for now. Once we have a winner I'll add more crazy stuff.

Right now I'm just experimenting with rules to see what can make the game more playable. Before I start initiating stuff like that, first I just want to play this out for a few days to see what happens. The main goal is to establish a downwards trend in total health, the opposite of what is happening now. That way a winner can be established and we don't have 8 people hovering at the HP max.

Things I could do to enforce offensiveness:
-Make healing higher risk. If you get hit while healing, you go all the way down to one health. If you are attacked while healing at one health, you would die.
-Make blocking unable to use more than 2 turns in a row rather than 3.
-Disable blocking at 5 health.
-Add a "counter" option, where when chosen acts as a block, but if somebody attacks you they get hit instead. If you counter and nobody attacks you, you attack yourself.

Seems a bit too harsh. Besides healing will become a higher risk when there are less people.

Yeah, after thinking about it, anything that results in the dealing of more than one damage in a single attack should be a big no-no in this game. Unless, of course, multiple people attack one person at once.

If I were to add that, I would want to add counters along with it.

There's a somewhat popular paradox called the "Unexpected Hanging". It holds some parallels to blocking. If somebody blocks 3 times in a row, everybody will know that person will not be able to block the next turn so it would be smart to attack that person. To avoid this, the smartest option would be to only block for 2 turns. If both the blocker and the attacker realize this, the attacker will simply attack the blocker on the third turn. To avoid this, the blocker simply would avoid blocking twice in a row, but the attacker would likely figure that as well and attack right after the first block. 3 turns is already limiting options after the first block because of this reasoning, making it very risky to block even once!

To spice that reasoning up, you could come out of a block chain with a counter, so anybody with that specific reasoning would be thwarted and end up hitting themselves. But if the attacker figures that a counter will follow the block(s) and decides not to attack, the counter will backfire on the person who countered. With counters, exiting blocks isn't a hard set option for the blocker or the attacker, leading to more variety.

Currently, I think having a limit of three blocks rather than two adds at least a little bit of variety to the blocking meta. Blocking already seems to be the inferior option in many situations because of the lack of freedom when coming out of a block.

I might decide to add counters in the middle of this game to see how it changes things. I think it could add a lot more variety to the game, not only in blocking meta. So yeah, I'm going to be experimenting a lot with the rules throughout this game, as I want a good ruleset to build off of for more games with more complicated aspects, like items and perks. For now though I want to settle with the current rules without too many changes just to see how this works out.

tl;dr
It's risky to exit a block, counters could change that. Sorry for long reply.

With countering tho, what if X counters, but Y and Z attack? Would they both be damaged, or would only one, or would nothing happen?

Everybody "countered" would take a hit. Now although countering can be extremely powerful, potentially hitting very many people at once, it also runs the risk of you simply hitting yourself, which can be devastating in certain situations.
