Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Why can I report my own post?

Why am I able to report my own post? I realize that reporting a topic thread to have it moved makes sense, but reporting my own post doesn't make any sense. I should be able to edit the post if I feel that it is not worthy of the rules.

Maybe for when someone gets a hold of your own account?

Well you can still edit it. Unless you mean, to report that person for stealing your account rather than for the post. Then I guess that could be a thing, but if that happened I would just PM an admin rather than use the report system.

You can report your own post so you can get the mods to lock threads, move threads, etc.

If you're reporting your own posts for no reason, then you're abusing the reports and Diff will send you to the deepest depths of Hades.

Why you can report when you're yourself? I don't get it.

So that you can request that the topic be locked if it needs it, or if you accidentally posted it in the wrong forum and want to request that it be moved.
