Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

subforum blacklist/whitelist for active section

Is it possible to blacklist/whitelist certain subforums to only show up on the active list? I've tried to do a search only listing those subforums but it requires a keyword/author.

It is possible if there's interest.

seems useful, but you could just check the forums you want and "mark all topics as read" for the rest

well yeah, you can do that, but doing that results in just viewing one subforum at a time, which is fine, but it is also more convenient to just search from most recent without having to click into separate forums, plus I like viewing multiple ones at a time, it gives it more variety. And honestly the only reason why I posted this suggestion is because there are times in the day where certain subforums (which will not be named) that absolutely take over most of the page. Now it is a bit more equal with everything now, but it can very well still be a good feature to add.

Re: subforum blacklist/whitelist for active section

I know this is old, but I just remembered about this and I really want it added since I remembered it. A little earlier I saw close to half the active board full of forum games, which is annoying, especially since there was more, other sub forums that I would read, that was on the 2nd page. Which, if you are trying to read some actual threads, gets annoying to sift through. Not only that, it could benefit for those only here for the game and not wanting to go into off topic, or even the opposite and mainly want to visit off topic and the few other non game sub forums, or any other way people want. I know you could go into each forum separately, but I personally like viewing different kind of topics at once, just not when that one or two sub forums you aren't a huge fan of takes over the page.

If this isn't going to happen I have another suggestion that is nearly the same, just topic wise instead of forum wise.  Add a hide button on topics so you don't have to view them after you check it once, and it wouldn't show up unless you specifically go to the sub forum of that topic.

You don't need to see "New", you can click New Posts right next to your favorite subforums.

This is a false statement.
