Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

host it on forums.everybodyedits.com under a separate subdomain or something
and use mediawiki instead of wikia

I don't know about this "subdomain" stuff you got going on in your head (at least not for the moment) but a wiki is definitely possible.

I was thinking about this a few days ago. To keep things organized, I would imagine pages be separated into multiple types (as copied from my Notepad):
Main: In-game stuff, like blocks, smileys, and world sizes
Meta: Meta concepts not in the game itself, like trolling and minigame types
Level: Levels by players
Player: For notable players
Fan project: Specific fan groups, organizations, contests, websites, etc.
Wiki: Wiki information
Of course, there is the wiki at everybodyedits.wikia.com, but I would not recommend Wikia and believe the wiki itself has multiple issues that I could go in-depth about.

Wikia is about to fall drastically down.
This is a false statement.

Yeah, we already have one. It's still updated by a few people tmk. Not sure why it would need to be put on an ee domain
Looks like a few people have a problem with wikia itself.

Wikia has loads of advertisements (do not tell me "use Adblock," please consider that there are plenty of other people without it and may be turned away from the website for that reason). As you can see here (I personally do not use that wiki, so credit to Bimps for notifying me this), Wikia really wants people to use it and goes further than you would probably expect. An official website (perhaps just wiki.everybodyedits.com would make it more "official" and easier to find.

What I'm concerned with is how many people would actually use the wiki and who would actually feel like filling out a huge empty wiki when we already have a perfectly good[citation needed] one?

same, and we can easily copy all the current articles
what's claimed is not linked to on the ee website

(this is not a complaint, this is a comment)
The help page is rather lacking (especially as of recently, one of the staff members probably shortened it a lot), and does not contain information about specific stuff (like boost arrows or potion uses). It is also completely lacking of meta stuff like trolling or minigame type, unlike what the former wiki had.

I shortened it because I didn't feel like that info was needed.

It's on the beta site.

What are you referencing?

The wikia wiki that people have complaints about.

The current wiki is very informative but alot of it is outdated.

Just being informative itself might not be all that is required. Generally, wikis are meant to be professional-looking. The wiki is inconsistent. Is it "smilies," or "smileys?" Not even Everybody Edits itself seems to know (but learns towards "smileys"). Plus, what does and does not deserve pages? Do several-pixel blocks need pages when they can just be listed on one? If I recall correctly, there are pages for both "trolling" and "trolls." Not only that, but it does not always take the form of a neutral point of view (something very important). Crew pages are often written like a forum topic.
While it may be easy to get (usually) accurate information from it, having it look not very good is not very good. Go check out some other game wikis and see how they look, and imagine how lovely it would be to get our own wiki. If you (anybody in general) have any plans for the forum, I would like to help out.
