EE Main Website Backgrounds
On the main website, I plan on having a random image as a background every time the page is loaded.
Well, I need pictures of worlds. I can't go through millions of worlds to find some that look decent, so please, make suggestions. I would like them to be massive worlds only so the load time doesn't take forever.
Zoey also told me to try some patterns made of blocks that can be tiled. That would shorten the load time by a lot, so if you have some suggestions for that I'll take those too.
Um, I guess that's it... so.... yep.

I think some of my levels could work. Lost Continent and Forgotten Veil could be nice.
Project Alpha was made with Boh Lictor and Thanel and has awesome ingame art ( thanks to them ).
Otherwise, Thanel's, Boh's and Lictor's levels are awesome, I would recommend some of Jaa's levels and some Stagecrew levels.

Here's one small 8x8 tile. (Or would you prefer larger tiles such as 16x16?)
If put together, it would fill the background of the website with something like this.

If you're gonna do that, why not make a submission site for possible level backgrounds? Just have people submit their best work, and then keep a library of the ones you use so people can see. I think this is a great idea BTW. I don't have any levels to contribute, but it's always nice to see community work getting noticed.

this one looks pretty okay horizontally tiled, could just add some blue background to the top to make it to the same height as the current one
this one's almost TOO plain, but it's not distracting. tiled both ways.
edit:
Basically, what I suggest is cutting down on load times by using a small image as opposed to compressing a large one. I also suggested just editing a level so it isn't quite so bright. Turn down the saturation and brightness. Or use darker colored blocks.
In my opinion, a background should be non-obtrusive and practically ignored -- it should be set apart from the game so it isn't confused for it... this is possible by changing the colors or just making it a smaller scale.
A randomized background would be pretty cool too.
