EE on Youtube

I noticed a lack of EE vids on youtube so I'm going to start recording levels and stuff. Here's my first video. Some things still need to be worked out like audio and part of the screen being cut off. Feedback is welcome. Also if there is a level you would like to see me play, let me know. As I said in the video, I don't consider myself a good player so take my gameplay with a grain of salt.

As a side note, the commentary is post commentary not live. This may change in the future who knows. Same with the music. I know it's repetitive lol anyways enjoy

Edit 2: Made a new video (not a play through this time) let me know what you think. Forgive me for the quiet audio again and for the cheesy/overused transitions.

EE is hard to make videos out of because it takes a long time

See, I would rather play the world by myself than watch someone else play it for 13 minutes

Maybe get a friend and have commentary all the way through?

Also, make some building videos, where you talk your way through making a level. Could be interesting.

Otherwise, it's not too bad.

The only thing I see that could work for EE "videos" is Tutorials (maybe for making certain art, or going through the concept of interesting minis). It is definitely not a "Let's Play" kind of game where you can comment on whats going on, since it's pretty much self-explanatory. Also, the keyboard and what the user is actually doing is hugely important (a lot of good lets plays use point and click mystery games). In addition, you can't make anything funny about it... or make it entertaining for users. You could be possibly raging at difficult minis or displaying wonderful art, but it isn't the most interesting thing. In addition, minis would be long since they are real-time and you would likely be taking lots of shots at it, plus viewers would only be able to see the smiley on the screen. Art, only requires 1 minute max to use god mode to fly around and view all the blocks, maybe comment on how it looks on the minimap, unfortunately it is also pretty boring and commentary is hard to provide that is unique to anything else. There's not much content in EE to make videos on.

I could see bots working though. A bit like hunger games minecraft videos (using it since it is also a social/sandbox).

But honestly, there is a reason there aren't EE videos, and rather than just nobody wants to make them, it's more its not a game /designed/ to have videos made on

EE is definitely a Let's Play game, especially if you're playing challenging worlds like EX PRO Forgotten Veil et cetera.

I started this once, but gave up after 1 video. I might start again.
What I think could work:
Speedruns
Tutorials
Monthly level reviews(? It could work, but you'd have to test it out first)

I am saying that what is going on in-game on the screen is very self explanatory, and that the uploader can't really do much commentary on what is actually going on. Even viewers who haven't ever played the game before will probably only need to be informed on what a few blocks do, due to how easy of a concept EE is. This reduces commentary to literally just reactions, or reviews. With a webcam camera I could see reaction videos being decent. And with enough unique worlds (it would have to probably be ~monthly) reviews working. While quite a few /other/ games do have things that are self-explanatory to even new viewers those games usually have more variability, or can provide better commentary/reactions
I probably shouldn't have used "definitely" and "since"  in that sentence, nor had self-explanatory in my opening argument, but as I see it, since the game is self-explanatory it reduces the little content that can be commented on.

Group commentary while building worlds might be something I'd actually invest time in watching. It's hard to maintain entertaining commentary throughout a playthrough of a world, yet I feel like any content creator would have a lot more to say while building a world, especially with other people involved.

It's a mix of the coins being loud, me being quiet, and me just being terrible at adjusting things.

Also, added a video of me rambling while playing MIHB's dream to my first post.
