Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

What I am referring are movements that your keyboard cannot tolerate. For instance, mine is UP+LEFT+SPACE, it won't register in EE.
What's yours?

It seems like if i press more than 2 arrows and space on mine it wont work no matter the combination

Well my left key only registers like half the time I press it, but I can't really think of any specific combinations
10 years and still awkward. Keep it up, baby!

You can't press 2 arrow keys + space, but you can press 2 letters(AWSD) + space.
This is a false statement.

I thought mine was like this too, but using the thing goeyfun posted, it seems that only up+left+space doesn't work.

It all depends whether you have a mechanical keyboard really. Mechanical keyboards can handle as many inputs as you press.

Ive always thought about using a program (I forget the name) and a game controler to play EE, but never really got around to it.

Are you thinking of xpadder?

Cheap keyboards can't handle up+left+space, it's called ghosting: http://www.microsoft.com/appliedscience … ained.mspx
That's why you should learn to play with WASD. Or buy a proper keyboard, but WASD is always recommended anyway.

WASD is always recommended anyway.
Why?

The problem is that not everyone is lefty.

You don't need to be, you can get used to it. I play tons of games with WASD. However, I think it would be harder to play EE with WASD. I've tried it before and I found it a lot harder.

I wonder if it would it make anything easier if we could press UP or W to jump.

No, we need to press ^/W to climb things, keep space to jump, but add a additional jump button, sometimes the spacebar doesn't work well.

It would still let you climb. If you were on a dot/rope/ladder/water/whateverelsewedecidetoadd it would just make you move up, if you were on a block, you would jump.

I can predict this will leave many problems, and there are bots that detect jumps and move ups differently.

Turn off numlock and use 8/4 or 8/6 for up/left and up/right.
I can't use wasd for ee because it doesn't feel right so i use arrows and my keyboard can't do up/right/space.
thanks zoey aaaaaaaaaaaand thanks latif for the avatar

Nou wrote:WASD is always recommended anyway.

Because most games are played with WASD because there are more buttons surrounding them for easy access to other functions.

I'm not a lefty either. It took me a while to get used to playing WASD, but once I did, I noticed I got a lot better.

If you're very skilled, you will never need to use up+left/right+space. The only keys that do anything, are one of the sideways directions (relative to the direction of gravity) and jump. So if you're quick, you can just use two buttons, and just switch which two buttons you're pressing when you need to.

Thats usually what I have to do to do some of the more complex minis.

My keyboard can handle 5 buttons at once so I don't really have a problem with dead combos. I do, however, still use WASD almost religiously. The only time I'll switch to the arrow keys is if I need to mash space. It's much nicer to play with a free hand, so you can draw/move at the same time really easily.
