special doors and gates

what about doors and gates that would open/close if using a special skin. holograms could pass through grates (door) but not through an electric field (gate). party goers (cake hat) could pass through gift doors, but not through _____ (I cant think of a special name yet). Diamond skin allows you to pass through vault doors, but not through laser grids (gate). I know people have suggested crown and trophy doors and gates. These would be useful for forcing players to match the theme of the room to get in.

This is an interesting idea, but seems undeveloped. Also, just saying "no I don't like it" isnt very good constructive criticism...

No, I don't like specific smilies doors.

But this works well because these smilies require you to touch a certain block to wear them. It's not just like, oh I need this smiley, better just hunt for it in my collection of 80 different smilies. Maybe the level will require you to get to a certain place where you will get this block (cake/hologram/diamond), or unlock a certain area or something. It can be used as an alternative to switches, if you want some sort of theme rather than just having to touch a purple square.

It can works well, but if there be all smileys doors - actions block will have same doors. Only on exclusive, like Big Spender, Diamond, Cake or Hologram.

I agree, only use the exclusive smilies, or else the number of blocks for over 80 smilies would be very cluttered in the toolbar

i completely agree that these should only be for the skin changing bricks, I did not intend to say for all smileys. If all smileys have a door, not only will it take forever for the game to make them, but there would be too much and may require a player to obtain a smiley just to play through a certain world, which would be extremely annoying to those that don't invest in smileys daily. sorry if you people thought I meant make them for all smileys, not just the special ones.

We already have a taste of these special area doors/gates with the zombie ones, I can't see why they couldn't make more for the special skin changing bricks like diamond or cake.

I actually had a similar idea with the Hologram doors/gates. So for that I think it is a good idea.

I did not contradict myself, I said the exclusive skin door/gate idea could be inspired by the similar zombie door/gates. And sorry if you don't like double posts, I just didn't know how else to put it in while connected to my other ideas

When I saw the first time hologram smiley, I thought it would be good if it could pass through some blocks, like industrial bricks.

it's not, but then again, how many topics have only "on topic" posts. I bet you could find at least one off topic post in most if not all. My question has been answered, so I can end this short, off topic series of posts.
