Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

I don't know what the problem was with it. There are some very young people playing this. The censors don't work very well, and therefore chat is not always clean. And it's not just about swearing. It's also internet safety in general. They could potentially give away sensitive information to people they shouldn't trust. I know a 7 year old who plays this, and I'm worried that he doesn't know about what kind of information he can share online, and I think it would be better if he didn't have chat.

Whether the chat is email verified or not, anyone can get it for free. I didn't see a problem with email verification either.

With the email-verification, I coudn't get chat because I use facebook... (I eventually got it thanks to NVD).
So if the verification is also possible for facebook users, I also don't see the problem, but I don't think they are going to add it back...
You can use it with any type of account I think. It works the same as the friends system. You enter an email, and then you click on the link in the email that you have been sent. After you click on that link, I believe you can login to any site and your account will have chat. Though I'm not sure about this.

What's the point? You use an email to create an account - therefore anyone can get chat; leave it how it is.
Thank you eleizibeth ^
I stack my signatures rather than delete them so I don't lose them

The page where you are redirected to doesn't have a button for facebook, and just logging in on facebook doesn't work...
leave it how it is.
I agree with that.

Well maybe something other than email verification then. It is not safe for some people to have chat. I have explained this in the first post.

Maybe you can't chat until you complete all three tutorials? That would make more sense imo.
I suppose one might argue that someone who doesn't know about internet safety shouldn't be on the internet, but like I said, I know someone like that, but I can't just force them to stop playing EE. Bringing non-chats back in some way would be the easier option.

Yeah. For some reason, I couldn't sign up on my computer. I ended up doing it on a library computer right before the chat system was brought back.
And, quite honestly, there's no point in it. There are hundreds of games across the net with chat, and twice that many forums and comment sections. Even if an email verification would work (it wouldn't), that wouldn't fix the problem with the rest of the net. And if you can't constantly supervise your child while they're playing EE to know they're not talking to someone they shouldn't be or giving out private information, then you can't supervise them to know that they aren't in any of the millions of other places on the Net where they can chat.
