Should we have it? Or some form of +/- on individual posts?

I think it's good to get feedback on posts, without people having to reply in the thread.

In seriousness though, if you need to give feedback on a particular post beyond just +/-, it should probably be a pm or reply. If it is +/-, then that will just be stupid. I think it would only really be a good idea if it were full user wide rep.

Silverheart was thinking about some sort of thanking system like other forums have.
Another suggestion (mine, to be specific) was to re-add rep, but to only display total rep on a per-post basis. So like if someone +rep'd a post, that post would show "1", but all other posts would still have "0".

what about a combo?  you only see rep for the post you're looking at, but you can see net rep for all posts on profiles.  sort of like how reddit does their upvotes/downvotes and karma.

Will you still have to type a reason for the +rep or -rep, and there still be a menu list? Because saying it should be "like reddit" kind of implies it would not.

32orton edge i saw one of ur reddit posts like a week ago by accident but i couldnt reply with a random spam comment because i forgot my login info for reddit

also ther is a problem when someone who has negative rep often continues to get -reps
at least it often appears to be such

also I think reddit rep with comments sounds neat

But what about spam downvotes? People could make fake reasons?

And, there should be 'user' rep and 'post' rep. Post rep being in a formatted bar at the bottom of the post, but before the sig, that has a + and a -.
And user rep where it was on first gen EE forums.

There should be +/- post rep. Each post has a different rep value. You can only upvote or downvote a post once. You have to be registered to do this.

I think anything with downvotes/negatives is pointless on this forum because some people will just downvote anything posted by someone they don't like.

Yeah, but assuming only a few people would do this, it shouldn't be too much of a problem. If it's a good post, the majority will upvote it. If it's a bad post, the majority will downvote it. Also, rules can be enforced for abuse of the system.

This too, I had some beautiful messages in rep ;_; y u spoil our fun dramakidz.

So what about old rep except without the totals? That'd solve the issue of bandwagoning on downrepping posts and it'd solve the drama, too. Maybe.

Well I don't think anyone was planning on adding it back in it's entirety, were we? I think the main problem with rep is that you could see totals and people were judging other's worth as well as their own by it, which was stupid but whatareyougonnado, amirite?
