Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Hey! EE Tool is a cool little program I made for EE to help map makers. While what I am releasing is a very limited version, maybe it'll still help some people before encryption comes around. Figured I might as well let some other people benefit from it before encryption comes.
WARNING: EE Tool is not (as released) compatible with the new encryption! You will NOT be able to auto build ANYTHING with this download. (Though you may still like the external minimap, which should still work.)
Features:
* Map saving and loading
* Image -> Map conversion (and vice versa)
* Cancel button to cancel bucket drawings or map loads.
* Bucket tool (Maximum of 5,000 bricks at a time.)
* Line and pencil draw tool.
* External minimap.
* Maximum speed of 60 bricks / 150 millisecond. This is actually relatively slow,
but should be stable for everyone and be at least slightly nicer to Chris's servers...
A How-to is included in the download in README.TXT ! Please read it before asking questions.
You may need to install this: Visual Studio 2008 Runtime

That's a nice piece of work there.
Wish it was already in EE >.>
Nice. Now I can stop begging Aslai for a code. Hope it works!
Update: Amazing! Works perfectly... in Chrome. Doesn't seem to work at all in Firefox or IE/

i can inject any DLL except the EETool one, iv tried copying that dll to c:\ windows and c:\windows\system32.
Iv also installed the c++ thing you mentioned, still no change.
everything works except it.
Just what I need. I love you.
But...
Both injection-methods failed ! ( RemoteLoadLibrary and DetourInjecting ) EETool.dll -> firefox.exe Target is protected? err:0
This happend to me. I've tried with Chrome too.

Maybe you are hooking it in wrong process.
For Firefox it's Plugin_container.exe.

Thanks for all the good reviews
I know there are a lot of compatibility issues going on, and I'm working to sort them out.
I personally use it with Firefox. For best results, I recommend having Everybody Edits by itself in a browser when you inject EE Tool.
Be sure you copied "detoured.dll" into C:\Windows, and not EETool.dll or one of the other dlls.
If you are having an issue, please be sure to list which version of windows you are running, whether it is 32 or 64 bit, and what language/locale your computer uses. Also, test if you are able to inject EETool.dll into a simple program like notepad, as opposed to your browser.
Edit: Forgot to mention that you should also run Winject and your browser as administrator if you are having problems.
Edit 2: Some people have had success by injecting "detoured.dll" into the browser and then injecting "EETool.dll" You should also try restarting whatever browser you are injecting into if this doesn't work the first time.

Make sure you inject detoured first, then the eetool dll.

Awesome, going to try this right now.
windows XP service pack 2 32 bit.
tried everythnig, injected previous DLLs, restart plugin-container.exe
tried using iexplorer.exe also, no luck.
copied the dll... installed that c++ thing...
i can still inject everything EXCEPT EETool.dll

What error code are you getting? Can you inject EETool into a program like notepad?
Also, you may try installing the runtime listed in my first post, as you are running an older version of windows.

It worked. But not with the browsers. This time I tried with IE and Safari too.

Encryption broke it. Saving still works. Are you going to work on craking the encryption?
doesnt work for me and I downloaded the runtime library..copied detoured.dll to c:/windows and selected plugin-container.exe
my system is windows xp professional service pack 2 32 bits I think
My plugin contain keeps crashing. arg!
Oh, and I can't draw on the minimap either. :/

Encryption isn't out yet, so not sure what you're talking about. And if/when I do get around his encryption, I don't plan on re-releasing.
EDIT: Okay, apparently it is. I just glanced at a few packets, saw the header was the same, and assumed there was no encryption.

map saving is still very very useful to me, any way of getting this working in xp?
Yea, GC, please refrain from fixing your tool, so that Mr. Benjaminsen isn't encouraged to change anything

I think you can help me:
I've tried injecting everything into the 'plugin-container.exe', because I'm using Firefox. I've already tried injecting the detoured.dll in the 'plugin-container.exe', and it works. But when I try injecting the 'EETool.dll', I get the error message:
Both injection-methods failed!
(RemoteLoadLibrary and DetourInjecting)
-> plugin-container.exe
Target is protected? err:0
When I try running it in NotePad, the Map Editor opens, but it doesn't draw.
Please help me.

Have you put detoured.dll into C:\Windows and installed the runtime download in my first post?
Also, what OS are you using, and what version of FireFox. Though FF has always worked for me, some people have had more success in IE (Internet Explorer).
Also, even if it does inject, remember that because of recent security updates, my currently released version won't be able to draw anything in EE.

I have the same problem :/
Both injection-methods failed!
(RemoteLoadLibrary and DetourInjecting)
EEtool.dll-> plugin-container.exe
Target is protected? err:0
I'm running Windows 7, so maybe that's the problem?
I, personally, run and test this program on Windows 7 32-bit, and I also test it on a Windows 7 64-bit box. For my next update, I will do some more compatibility tests.
If you have followed all of the trouble shooting steps I have provided so far - injecting detoured.dll first, putting detoured.dll into C:\Windows, runnning EE by itself in another browser, and installing the runtime linked to in my first post - then I unfortunately don't have any better advice I can give you currently.
