No, there isn't. The chat isn't free for parental control purposes, which you would know if you'd have clicked the "why are we doing this?" link.

Yes there is. I told Chris I couldn't get it, and he said if I can prove my dad approves of me chatting, I get free chat. I had to pay for chat though, since chris never responded 1XD1

Chris actually loses money when this happens. Transactions cost Chris 3 cents per thing, so he is losing 2 cents. He isn't being greedy here.
