earning things through achievements
I think a better method of getting new things should be done by an achievement type system instead of just waiting out time and getting more energy it would make smileys, blocks, and things be a little more note worthy in a sense instead of you just getting on EE every couple of hours to spend energy that you didnt even have to do anything for. Just my opinion

Achievements have been suggested MANY times now. Including earning things through them. I still like your idea though.
