Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Hmm... Is it recognized as a virus or trojan? This could be because of the obfuscation.

How we would know whether or not the application was looked at if it was declined? Your sign up thing says that we would only receive a conformation e-mail if it was accepted, but not if it wasn't.

The applications will not be deleted when the first beta testers are selected. As I stated earlier, I'll start testing with only a few testers and increase the number with each new major feature. If a application is declined - for whatever reason - you'll receive a mail as well. But currently, all of the applications are fine.

His norton always blocks stuff, I just turned mine off while downloading the application and submitting the hardware ID

Also...

I aplied, I hope I become a tester, also I noticed a bug, the 4th Input box for country, if you use a space or symbol (as in United States with a space) it will say "username must have only letters and numbers" did you mean to put that on the first input box for username, because it does it for country to?

I don't know what you guys are talking about, I just downloaded the thing, press one button, and then it said it was done.
EDIT: Never mind, I didn't know that you had to go back to the main site.

Thanks for reporting. This one was a mistake in the form-validation. On submit the script checks, whether a field meets certain rules, like a e-mail has an @ or the username has no whitespaces. This one was a mistake with the rule for the country field. Should be fixed now. A country can contain letters, whitespaces and dashes...

How will you be deciding testers?   Will it be from that open-ended question you asked?   Or more of a blindfold-yourself-and-throw-darts-at-the-computer-and-see-what-it-lands-on thing?

I don't have you password. And you'r e-mail is only necessary to tie the bot to one account, so that it can be disabled for that account when someone abuses the bot. Furthermore I have two accounts my self, so why would I need 20 more? But if you don't trust me, I don't force you to sign up.

The selection is mainly based on the last question (not the captcha, the open ended one //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile). If someone donated something this increases the chances as well ;-)

The first beta tests will begin in one or two weeks, depending how much time I'll have to work on the bot. This is because i have still to implement the licensing in the bot and add some debugging functions, like saving the configuration. I also have to develop the user center on the website, that is mainly based on a bug tracker for now.

X de-obfuscate your program. Or sniffing the connections how it's add the request.
X find a exploit on the submitting site, and got access to all the emails. X have the emails for EE.
X start bruteforcing or use a wordlists to break the password.

I hope you have secured the submission site.

[me wrote:

You only need to know the email. And have a fast computer to get the password.
If the password is hard it will take many years. If not it will take some minutes.

Deobfuscation wont give you any information. It might give you infos on how the bot works but besides you have no ne information. The connection is encrypted. Of course you could get the data from your memory but this would mean a vulnerability (i.e. a trojan) on the client side.

X find a exploit on the submitting site, and got access to all the emails. X have the emails for EE.

This is always a risk. However i tried to code as safe as possible. But it would be the also possible to try to find a exploit in this forum and use the e-mails here. Or to find a exploit in the EE server... And there are plenty...

X start bruteforcing or use a wordlists to break the password.

If Benjaminsen would implement Brute-Force protection this wouldnt be a problem at all

I hope you have secured the submission site.

I hope so as well //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/big_smile I always try to code as safe as possible and I have a good knowledge in and around web coding. But I'll take this concern seriously. I can think of several solutions, like storing the e-mails as hash-values... So if someone has the DB he would have to decrypt the Hash values and this requires a HUGE amount of processing power... I'll think about that...

ChrisKringel, if you have an account there, I'd be more than happy to transfer my $2.50 to your account, for funding.

Hash them and it will give a longer time to break them. //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink
