Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Were you too lazy to read mustang's epic long post?
EDIT: Clearly what mustang was saying earlier was that Chris rather wants to judge himself, making the community of EE suffer more since many EX Crew members are not encouraged to judge and get at least a 2nd place prize. Since most of EX Crew were rejected from judging, they joined the contest, plus with more complaints coming that EX Crew keeps winning over and over again.

Actually I think that RavaTroll should judge. He's a very good art and minigames judge, and his judging skills are very amazing for the Easter contest also.
Ok, lets say we back out. SCAR team is next most likely to be top, or the Coldstorm team. They will be favored above everybody else.
Thus, SCAR and the Coldstorm team should drop out. The next favorites will be 2nd Story and those fools with the power ranger costumes. They will be favored over everyone else. Thus, Teams 2nd Story and Power Ranger would be selfish unless they drop out.
If they drop out, the next favored teams would be Dazz' team and Bro Co. If they were to stay in the competition, that would be selfish of them, because they would be favored over the other teams. They should drop out. If they drop out, the next favored team would be. . .
and so on down the line. There will never be an equal playing field, TakoMan02. You have expressed before that we should deal with reality. Take your own advice.
I'm simply pointing out that you've gotten in 1st place in the other two competitions. Let somebody else win this time, you know?
Yeah, well, you know that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

To what end? A reduction in contest entry quality?
That is like saying: "Tako, your art is too good, stop showing off and let other people get some fame."

Neither myself nor MFL have competed in a single contest to date. Mustang only competed in the Easter contest. Should we recuse ourselves?
You guys should be lawyers. I haven't even read the past 3 pages, and you know what this is all about?
A game.
Now, as a seemingly new player, you won't take this post in much regard, but I feel the need to say it, so when somebody does read it, eventually I could be held in a regard you guys are in. Okay, I agree that it should be split 50/50 or EX crew should judge, but I personally don't care.
I have entered a contest before, and felt bad because I didn't win (I didn't finish). But, it taught me a valuable lesson (Don't I sound like one of those moral story dudes?). I realized, Who cares? Sure I didn't win, but am I gonna die? I don't care if some noob wins, because I know I can try again later. Even if they won, everyone will know it really isn't that good, and he won't get any fame for a good level.
So relax. Even if you lose, everybody will know your level was the best.
It's more about the way chris rules his game and its community. It's definitly not about losing/winning. ( You should have read )
I spent so many hours in this game, I've always tried working for the community and not for myself, and I feel that my duty as a part of a community that cares about the game is to make sure the spirit of this game will remain the same. And now this spirit, this way of thinking is threatened by something as simple as what we're arguing about : Non-player judges. It's also a very nice topic about how we think someone can judge another person's work. It's almost philosophical.
So yeah, even if it's a game, it's something I like, WE like, something we spend hours playing - time that could be spared elsewhere, and that's why it's important to argue about our owns definition of contests in this game. A community that don't care about the game is a very bad sign : It means that people don't feel implicated in your game, which mean that they'll eventually leave it to a game they'll be more implicated in. ( Because when you're really implicated in a game, you'll play it a lot. Basic psychology in games. )
Trolls be in da place, mon !

The point of the competition is to compete! Compete with all your hard skill! What's the point of holding back? To make it so easy for noobs who want to show off their stairs?

I only wish that he could find good judges, that would have turned down the reward offer, but still judge anyway.
It's not too late to change your decision yet guys. The only reason EXCrew was offered to judge was to remove them from the contest. People complained last contest that excrew won too often. EXCrew enjoys making levels and competing, so why would they judge for nothing? Judging is tedious and not particularly fun.
I'm sure that there are other reasons why they where offered to take care of the judging; such as experience, skill, reputation and maturity. Do you actually believe that they aren't allowed to contribute and make this a better game for the sake of some young jealous kids?

oh god, it seem to me that you're claiminig that they either won't judge in any scenario, or that they only are aiming for the reward.
If you don't find judging fun your obviously not suited for the task, you just want a price that has no value appart from the sentimental factor (which in your case dosn't seem to be very high).
I apologise if I did sound to hostile, i'm just disapointed at everything and I do like to argu(which I think i'm not alone to be in here).

Those are only justifications as to why it makes sense, not reasoning behind it. Also, I didn't say "aren't allowed" but rather that the goal was to incentivise judging enough to want to remove them from the race. (See the suggestions thread from last contest where one of the most agreed upon goals was to give the first place winners prizes to be judges for the next contest)

No, I was not claiming that. Reread what I said. I said making levels > judging. Lets do a metaphor with a cost-benefit analysis. Basketball team EXCrew wins all their games and every game they win they get to go on a road trip. They enjoy playing basketball a lot. They are offered the chance to judge other people's games, but in turn, must give up competing at something that they love AND give up going on a road trip. How do you convince your basketball players to judge instead of compete?

Clearly you have never judged a competition before. Lets do a little math. Lets say, on average, you give each level 15 minutes. 15 minutes times 200 levels is 3000 minutes, or 50 hours. 50 hours of judging halloween levels? And I personally would have to go back and play my top 25 again to make a final judgement, at least ten more hours. You tell me if that is fun.
I apologise if I did sound to hostile, i'm just disapointed at everything and I do like to argu(which I think i'm not alone to be in here).
Arguing for the sake of argument is okay until you turn 16. Then you need to start developing your own view of what matters in life and push toward it, leaving behind petty matters.
Oh, and please don't spell your/you're or their/there/they're wrong again. As a teacher, I would give you an F because it is a pet peeve. Thanks

So why is everyone hating on EX Crew not judging? Because you all are a bunch of whiners.
They can do whatever they want. Just because they enter a contest doesn't automatically make them winners. They all have talent and a reputation. You will just have to work up to their standards. It's not unfair. EX Crew is good. And they deserve to be, because they are. They are allowed to enter, and they are allowed to judge if offered.
"I hate EX Crew because they're too good and they always win every contest which makes it unfair." Are you kidding me? What are you, 8 (Most likely, considering almost the entire community here hasn't hit puberty yet.) ?
MG Crew is good, but no one has complained about us. MX Crew is good, no one has complained about them. We all have unmatchable talent, every single one of us.
Above all, it's just a game guys. Get over it.

A game where there is a bunch of people thinking the wrong way on how to support the community. EX Crew knows the community more than the people who think they are "smart."

I'm not arguing for the sake of it, there are many other reasons, but it's alright to not being aware of that until you has reached the age of 12.
You have to realize that you're not always correct, a bit tierd of the superior way you are acting, there is no need for incoherent answers and insults to cover it.
And btw your estimation of how long it takes to judge is far from the truth.

You didn't address her most important points. In any case, she has not been a judge, nor have you. I have, and while it doesn't take 50 hours to judge, it is still a very tedious and time consuming process to do correctly.

Maybe I misunderstood her from the begin, I got the impression that she didn't find it fun at all and only saw it as a pointless chore, but after reconsiding I suppose that does she find it interesting after.
I also understand that you guys won't judge and put a effort into doing something nice, when Chris obviously dosn't deserve good treatment back at him.
I only had a slightly hope that you would ignore him and do something nice to the players instead, but I do support your choice. As I said earlier i'm just very disappointed and I beilive that i'm taking it out on the wrong people.

Chris decided on his own to only have his friends do it. Even if we wanted to help for no reward and without being respected for it, that is no longer an option.
Personally, I'm quite willing to give people feedback on their maps, I always have been. But I won't be doing it as a judge.

Is it that you do not want to do it as a judge, because he does not give anything special to the judges?

It has less to do with "not giving anything special" to the judges, than with not recognizing and respecting the work involved in being a judge. When I originally turned down the offer (the offer of the second place reward, mind you), it was with the statement that I did not think (Chris) respects the judges or what they provide.
