I hate it when people use the maximum pixel signature. It's rather annoying, and it extends pages.

I get what you mean but signatures sometimes show who you are (they don't have to be images) or what you are like. People may think you are a nub or are just plain boring without a sig, equaling less popularity, which means that you get less good remarks etc...
As you can see, mine shows that I like a certain animal. :3
