I softened the edges, to make it looks smoother:

Anyway, how I made the BG.
1. Open Paint.NET
2. Resize to 600x200
3. Do a radial gradient, white in the middle (A linear gradient from bottom to top creates neat flames)
4. Adjustments -> Curves, set to RBG and at this settings: (You can change the colors for different colors, but the position of the two points should be the same)
5. Add a new layer, set blending mode to overlay
6. Render ->Clouds, I lowered the size a bit, set blending mode to difference.
7. Repeat (Crtl+F) around 10 times
8. Merge down and you are done

I softened the edges with Photo -> Soften edges, because it looked kinda cut off at the top and bottom

I can also show you how I did the text

This takes me under 30 seconds, it's really simple

Paint.Net is a lot easier to use, and GIMP doesn't have curves I think, but I'll try to make it in GIMP

EDIT:Couldn't create something similar in GIMP

Sorry for the late response, I was on a swimming competition
@Jermifier: I know GIMP has cloud, but not the same, just download Paint.Net or don't do it, okay?
@sk8terboi108: At least a theme would be nice, because I don't have many ideas...
@treejoe4: I'll start working on it tomorrow or maybe Tuesday, that competition was really exhausting.
