Do you think I could just leave this part blank and it'd be okay? We're just going to replace the whole thing with a header image anyway, right?

Re: Things you dislike about internet browsers...

You don't have to test your work on Opera. Opera does fine no matter which browser you coded your site for. It starts up quickly. Eats up a little extra resource but I think it has the best javascript engine of them all. Java works pretty good as well.

EDIT: And as for the very small amount of people on it.... Less people = less hackers. No hacker with half a brain is going to waste their time trying to exploit something that will affect very few people. Most hackers want a larger effect.

Internet Explorer: Less updates and the most ********* internet in the world. Except for those who can't even download Firefox, the best in my opinion.

Re: Things you dislike about internet browsers...

IE: is not a browser, it is a tool to download browsers //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink and is so slow
Firefox: takes long time to start
google chrome: nothing, it is the best, fast and simple.
safari: i think it is apple`s version of IE
opera: different55 keep advertising for it (jk)

considering opera isn't based around webkit or netscape, or whatever the hell IE is based on, yes, you /do/ have to test opera, as things may appear quite differently. Back in 2008 I was designing my website and I had a bit of a fit making things look right in opera and IE.
>best javascript engine
Because apparently there's a notable difference in JavaScript engines now.
>Java works pretty good as well.
That's java, not opera, then.
>Less people = less hackers
Opera has a decent market share, and no one unstupid is trying to make browser specific viruses, so this is irrelevant.
Also, to all the quote things, I like quick functionality: I'm sure I'd like linux more than windows if I spent a month tweaking it to be perfect for me, but out of the box linux will just not do it for me, and my apathy(which may be greater than most other people's, but lazyness is still something to factor in everything) will prevent me from spending hours tweaking something so it doesn't bother me, especially when there's a much easier alternative.
Imagine being able to buy a computer with the same specs as one you'd build.

To the people saying safari sucks, it's not too horrible on a mac(but you have to be using a mac, so I guess that is horrible).
If I were to rank browsers I'd say
Chrome>opera>firefox>IE>safari
But on a mac
Chromium>safari>opera>firefox>ie(lol people use ie for mac wat).
I've heard good things about rockmelt, but it's just chromium with some built in plugins that have been slightly designed to fit chrome better than a plugin would. Still I guess it's interesting if you have larger ties with a variety of social networks I suppose(it doesn't support tumblr which makes me mad...)

Chrome is simple, but it's not lacking in any features. Only downside is it's a bit hard on the resources(not worse than opera, though).

Works for me. You've got your browser to use right out of the box and I get all my settings, power, ridiculous customizability, and resource eating skins.

I wouldn't, because I would say

You act like chrome doesn't have all of that. It has plenty of settings, 'power' makes no sense, the only difference in customizability is all the unnecessary things in opera, and chrome has themes, too.

Chrome= Google

Why is that a bad thing?

I don't like we are so dependable on Google. Look to Japan, the system to find missing people was very scattered previously. Then Goodle unified into one system and now we are forced to use that after disasters
I would use Chrome too if Shockwave wouldn't chrash that often

Back when I did test my work on Opera, there were plenty of times when Opera behaved differently from the other browsers. The reason I don't test my work in Opera anymore is because, until I saw people advocating it on the EE forum, I didn't know of anyone who used Opera as their browser. (Outside of the Wii / DSi crowd, and they don't count //forums.everybodyedits.com/img/smilies/wink )

1. There's a button to hide it.
2. That's not even there by default. You have to add that.
3. You can remove the one in the address bar. It's fully customizable. You can add any button you want there.
4. You can remove the one on the right. Just right click and click customize.
5. Why bother going through menus looking for it later? Anyway you can remove it if you want.
6. Is not. I never use turbo and it still runs a heck of a lot faster than IE.
7. And? Firefox has it, too. Just another place to add your favorite buttons and settings.
8. You can set those to whatever you want so it can be your most visited pages.
9. Change the skin or change the settings to remove the button and replace it with the classic menu toolbar.

Takes too long.

Re: Things you dislike about internet browsers...

Well unlike Chrome or Firefox or ANYTHING else, Opera actually comes in a box. You download it and its a box. Double click it and it installs.

Yeah, except in the business sector, where not only is IE still overwhelmingly dominant, but many companies still enforce IE6 usage because of enterprise intranet web apps that will "break" if they upgrade. It's been a problem for the better part of a decade.
